FINAL CHANCE: FamilyID reopened for select JV/Varsity Sports & all modified sports

9/3/21

Hi Hastings Families,

This is your last and final chance to participate in the Fall Interscholastic Program.  Due to the need for a few more players, the Athletic Department will be opening FamilyID for the following JV & Varsity Sports ONLY: Football, Field Hockey, Cross Country, & Girls Soccer.

FamilyID will be open from Friday, 9/3/21 at 3:00 pm to Thursday, 9/9/21.

Please understand that they will not be cleared for practices until 9/10 due to the medical clearing process.

Important Modified Fall Athletic Information:

  • Due to the extensive court and field damage to Reynolds Field, the start date of Modified Sports (7th & 8th Grade only) has been postponed until Monday, September 13th. Hopefully, by then we will have a plan set for where/when practices for Varsity, JV,& Modified Sports will be.
  • We will have a Modified Fall Sports Interest Meeting on Thursday, 9/9/21 at 3:15 pm in the Green Gym.
  • Registration is open now and will close on September 13th. After the 13th, all athletic registrations will be closed.
  • If the online registration is completed after Thursday, September 2nd, 2021 (due to the long 5 day holiday) your child is not guaranteed clearance for the first day of practice.
  • Not sure what sport your child would like to participate in? No problem just register and you can switch teams at a later date.

Please note:  All are welcomed and encouraged to participate in Modified Athletics. However, please know that team size will be limited in order to provide a safe and productive environment for the players and coaches. This means if there is a lot of interest in a sport, there will be tryouts and the roster will be cut down to a manageable number. We understand being cut from a team is difficult. We do not take it lightly and wish we didn’t have to but we need to make sure the program is safe and manageable.  Being cut from a team one year does not mean you can’t try out again the next year.  Like everything in life, you need to put in the time to achieve greatness. Practicing skills and fitness training in the off-season is crucial to your success on the field, pitch, court, or course/track. With all of this being said, we offer a lot of different sports opportunities in the Fall so if one program doesn’t work out, you can always join another program. We are also in the process of designing a Middle School Intramural program that will be open to all 5th-8th grade students.
