Health and Safety Reminders for Families
Hello Families!

We continue to monitor COVID cases in our local community and across the state. We have seen different areas where numbers are on the rise again.

As we head into April break, some reminders and information to review:
  • TLC is participating in the At-Home Rapid Testing program. If you have not yet signed up, but would like to enroll, please fill out this form. Students will be sent home every other week with a kit containing two rapid tests. If you enroll into this program, we do ask that you test your child weekly to keep our entire community as safe as possible. All positive cases should be reported to our Nursing Office.
  • We are also participating the Symptomatic Testing On Campus. By providing consent, we are able to test your child during the school day. The consent form can be filled out at this website. (Note: When selecting ‘School District’ please choose The Learning Center for the Deaf’)
  • Our COVID Guidelines Flow Chart has been modified to reflect changes in our exposure and quarantine policies. Please review these guidelines and reach out to healthandsafety@tlcdeaf.org or our Nursing Office with any questions.

Finally, we hope everyone has a wonderful and restful April break! Your children work so hard at school, and it is wonderful to see their growth this year. As caregivers, we know that schedules often feel overwhelming. This is a great time to unplug and participate in some fun activities.

Please test your child on Sunday, April 24th, before returning to campus. If you child is exhibiting cold or COVID symptoms, we ask that you keep them home to monitor and test.
Social Emotional Learning Survey
TLC values its students' social emotional wellbeing. We have a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Implementation Work Group, to develop more comprehensive and thorough programming.

You will be receiving a survey from us in coming weeks, so that Marie Philip School and Walden School can gain a better understanding of your experiences and perceptions of social emotional learning (SEL) as a family and community member. Data collection from this survey will be used for planning and improving SEL implementation activities.

If you have questions about the process or SEL, you may contact Tandy Lewis at tlewis@tlcdeaf.org or Shira Grabelsky at sgrabelsky@tlcdeaf.org
