Aggie Scientists Ascend Utah’s Capitol Hill | |
Ten College of Science undergrads are among 26 Aggie scholars headed to Utah’s Capitol Hill Jan. 20 to present their research to state legislators. At the annual event, established in 2000, Aggies serve as ambassadors for USU, present cutting-edge studies and highlight the importance of undergraduate research experiences for students, local communities and the State of Utah. | |

Apply for Graduation by Feb. 28 | |
Planning to graduate this Spring 2023? Congratulations! Be sure to apply for graduation with the Registrar’s Office (TSC 246) by Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023. The University Commencement Ceremony is set for Thursday, May 4, 2023 (more details available soon.) If you wish to graduate in May and participate in the commencement ceremony, you must submit your application by Feb. 28. Questions? Science Unwrapped, the college’s public outreach program, resumes Friday, Jan. 20 with “Predicting Snowmageddon: Using Data Science to Design Against Disaster” with USU statistician Brennan Bean at 7 p.m. in ESLC 130. All are welcome to this free event. | |
Apply for Scholarships via ‘ScholarshipUniverse’ | |
The application period Is now open for 2023-24 departmental, college and university scholarships, including College of Science Scholarships (deadline noon, Feb. 28, 2023). All applications must be made through USU’s ‘ScholarshipUniverse’ online platform. The process is long, but it may be well worth your while. Note: To be considered for need-based scholarships, you will need to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid.) Questions? Contact the USU Financial Aid Office. | |

Student candidate declarations, including for the office of Science Senator, are due by Monday, January 30, 2023. Student elections open February 22 for officers for the 2023-24 academic year. Make your voice heard! | |
Spring Runoff Conference Set for
March 14-15, 2023

USU’s annual Spring Runoff Conference, for all scholars interested in water-related research, will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, March 14-15, at the Eccles Conference Center on campus. Registration and Call for Abstracts are now open. Undergrads are encouraged to participate. | |

All Aggies are invited to participate in HackUSU March 24-25, a FREE 24-hour hackathon featuring coding workshops, networking and free food in Huntsman hall on campus! No coding experience is necessary; the gathering features activities for all skill levels. | |
