September 2, 2020

It is good to be back from my sabbatical and I look forward to seeing you all real soon - maybe even at the food drive in the morning! It begins at 9:30.

I cannot express adequately my deep gratitude to Rosy and all the FPCR staff. They really kept things moving right along. I look forward to sharing my sabbatical insights with you. Beginning next Thursday (9/10), I will be leading a mid-week class on Sabbath. It will be at 7pm and there will be a Zoom link in next week's ePress that will get you there.

I can't wait to hear about your Summer!

Blessings to you all.

Pastor David

WORSHIP WITH COMMUNION
This Sunday, September 6

For this Sunday, please choose one of the following ways to access worship:

Option 1:
Access the service via FPCR's Facebook page by clicking here

Option 2:
Access the service via Zoom.
  • Pre-register for this Zoom meeting, by clicking here
(Note: Zoom will send you a confirmation email with login information. SAVE that email as you'll need it on Sunday morning).
  • On Sunday morning, this Zoom meeting will open at 10:15 am. Worship will begin at 10:30 am.
  • When you log in to the meeting, you will automatically be "muted" so as to cut down on audio feedback.
  • When we celebrate communion, we hope that you will choose "gallery view" so that we can see one another as we partake of the elements. (This option should be in the top right corner of your screen).
  • This Zoom meeting will be recorded and live-streamed to Facebook.
  • If you encounter technical difficulties on Sunday morning, please contact John Fattaruso at 214-349-8280 or fattaruso@ieee.org.
No matter which option you choose, please prepare for worship this week by downloading the bulletin at our website (www.fpcrichardson.org) and acquiring bread and wine/juice.

As members of the body of Christ, we are all invited to the table to receive God's grace and to recommit ourselves to love and serve God, one another, and our neighbors in the world. Therefore, we trust that even though we will be celebrating communion while separated in our homes, the Holy Spirit will bind us together in Christ's name.

We look forward to celebrating communion with you.

Don't be Scammed!

**NEVER give out any personal information -
over the phone,
email or text**

Unfortunately, there are continually new scams to steal personal information - credit card, bank account, driver's license number and social security number.

Please read the newest scams listed below.
  • If you receive an email from any church member, staff, or anyone outside of the church asking for financial help or gift cards of any kind, please know that it is a scam.
  • A phone call or email telling you that you have been exposed to COVID-19 and volunteering to send you a testing kit. They will ask for a credit card number to pay for the shipping.  This is a scare tactic to get your credit card information or Social Security number.
  • If something should ever pop up on your computer saying your computer has been compromised and gives you a phone number to call for support - DO NOT CALL OR REPLY IN ANY WAY!!  This gives hackers a backdoor into your computer and they will steal any private information they can get.
  • If you receive a text or email that might even be personalized with your name saying something similar to: "We found a parcel from a recent shipment owed to you. Kindly assume ownership and confirm for delivery",  and it will list a link to click on. IT IS A SCAM - DO NOT OPEN OR CLICK ON THE LINK.
  • If you receive a phone call from someone wanting to verify your name or address, DO NOT REPLY "YES". They are wanting you to reply with "Yes" so they can record your voice and use it to buy/sign up for fraudulent purchases, services or credit cards.

Don't answer any text messages, emails or phone calls from people or numbers you do not know.

NEVER EVER GIVE OUT

ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION.
