A Message from Pastor Sara

I love that the 12 days of Christmas are actually after Christmas. And count the days between Christmas and Epiphany the day we celebrate the wisemen from the East coming to bring gifts to Jesus. These days allows us in the church to keep celebrating the birth of Jesus when all the stores have put everything away. While they are getting symbols of love out for Valentine’s Day, we continue to keep our own images of love out with our nativities and Christmas decorations. God’s love for all came to us on Christmas and we can continue to celebrate.

And we also look to the new year as we will worship together on New Year’s Day. Join me for a fun and creative prayer activity during worship using flower, petals and organic materials to create a New Year’s resolution prayer card. No crafting skills necessary. There will also be an online coloring page option available as well.

Happy 6th day of Christmas!

God's Peace,
Pastor Sara

PS. Thank you for the lovely Christmas gift from many of you in the congregation. I love being your pastor!

PPS. Let’s have a Pastor Pop Up! I have a goal of doing 8 more before the end of 2022. (now January, another thing that won't get done on the list in time) Schedule one with me soon!

There will be an alternative prayer option available for online worship participants as well. To help with the planning team, please contact Pastor Sara.

PRAYERS

With wonder and thanksgiving for Christ's coming into the world, we pray for the church, the life of the earth, and the whole human family.

HOLY GOD, you have given the church the holy name of Jesus, and in him we are your beloved children. Unite us in mission through the power of his Spirit. Make us worthy of the name we bear, the name in which we pray.

RENEWING GOD, restore your glory to the earth. Awaken humanity to our kinship with all living things that depend on your provision. Teach us to care for the earth and safeguard its treasures for those who come after us.

PEACEMAKING GOD, reconcile the nations. Lead those in conflict into negotiation, especially in areas of religious or ethnic strife. End acts of aggression and violence carried out in your name.

DELIVERING GOD, rescue our siblings in any danger, especially in communities where disaster and disease threaten. Move those in authority to respond with speed and compassion. We pray for the safety of first responders, health care workers, and all who protect us.

HEALING GOD, raise up any who are bowed down with illness or sorrow. Deepen our care and concern for one another. We lift to you all who are undergoing transition in relationships, occupation, living situation, or health condition.

Pondering the mystery of eternal love made flesh in Christ Jesus, we commend all for whom we pray to the mercy of God and any additional prayers
