It's time to welcome 2023. While I love the "Best of 2022" lists that come out, I'm much more interested in what the new year can bring me. I've got books to read, trips to plan, new things to learn, creative pursuits...the list goes on. If you like looking forward to what's next as much as I do, let me remind you the library is the perfect place to begin your list for "Best of 2023". Find your next reads, plan your trips, learn, grow, meet old friends and new, and pursue whatever your heart and mind can imagine.

Our library has been awarded $5,000 from the McKean County Commissioners and the McKean County Community Foundation. The commissioners and MCCF partnership have awarded $226,595 to local organizations for their programs and projects that benefit our communities. The distribution of grant monies was made available to the county through the American Rescue Plan Act.
The Bradford Library will use this funding to supplement an earlier grant awarded by the American Library Association and AT&T for the creation of a computer lab to support digital learning in our area. The library is now better able to provide individualized instruction to aid in the development of basic computer skills in our newly created Tech Tutor program.

All are invited to develop their tech skills with us! Schedule a 30-minute appointment and receive some one-on-one instruction on basic computer tasks. Fly Tying Seminar
Well known local instructors, Steve Skavarka and Carl Zandy are hosting a day-long fly tying seminar in the library's Community Room on Saturday, January 14 from 10 AM - 3 PM. They will be joined by other craftsmen who will demonstrate the craft of fly tying. Come talk with local hobbyists and see how artificial flies are created.

Create A Healthier Life
It is all about 'balance.' Presenter, Alyse Renwick will share a simple step-by-step guide that offers a broad approach for things we can do—at our own pace, in our own time, and within our own abilities—that can help us feel better and live longer. This free program will include examples of activities and resources that can positively impact each area in a person's life. Helping Households Connect
|
The Affordable Connectivity Program is a Federal Communications Commission program that helps connect families and households struggling to afford internet service. This new benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers.
