Student Spotlight - Venkata Deekshith Lanka
Hello, Raiders! I’m Venkata Deekshith Lanka from India. Change is inevitable in this world and we are in an era of global and technological changes where boundaries are quickly disappearing and the greatest challenge for us is to manage the continuity of change.

I grew up appreciating Newtonian mechanics and marveling at engineering masterpieces such as Internal Combustion Engine, Aircraft, Formula One, and Space Shuttles. That was where my curiosity towards engineering has started and this passion was stimulated further in school through the subjects of physics and mathematics. Their exciting theories and interest in these subjects it has ultimately led me to pursue my undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering.

I got to learn about many aspects and theories related to mechanical engineering. But, I have developed a particular interest in supply chain and operations which were so captivating and fascinating and made me realize the vast scope of Technical knowledge associated with Management skills. In addition to my academic interests, I have been part of the Society of Automotive Engineers as a managing head and was proficient to use my skills and knowledge to solve problems. I had never let my academic pursuits dampen my spirit for participating in extracurricular activities.

To satiate my curiosity and to fulfill my ambitions, I have decided to pursue a master’s program in Industrial and Human Factors Engineering. The choice of a good university with a faculty dedicated to teaching and research and an atmosphere conducive to learning thus becomes extremely necessary. WSU can provide me with opportunities and the department of Industrial and Human Factors Engineering at WSU has a very strong research program with a focus on all my main research interests. I see myself entering the best education framework and forge my skills further to turn up to be a strong professional candidate required in today’s competitive world.

fees to WSU

You can easily pay your tuition and fees online via Flywire, our preferred payment partner. Flywire provides a secure global payment network that simplifies paying your fees from your home country and countries around the world. Payment options can include bank transfers, credit cards, e-wallets and more, typically in your home currency for most countries.
Health Insurance
WSU is offering a new health insurance this year! The insurance is through Anthem and it is cheaper than before and it includes dental insurance for the student.

Please be advised that you will not be able to add dependents on your medical insurance. This is a change from previous years. You will, however, be able to add your dependents on your voluntary dental and vision insurance.
Dental Plan
Dental coverage is now included in the new WSU Health Insurance!

Students enrolled in the medical plan automatically enrolled in the dental.

You'll save money when you visit a dentist in your plan network because Anthem and the dentist have agreed on pricing for covered services. Dentists who are not in your plan network have not agreed to pricing, and may bill you for the difference between what Anthem pays them and what the dentist usually charges.
