2022 Recap

2022 has come and gone and it's time to reflect on the progress we've made as a region since January.

In March, we celebrated together in person for the first time since 2019! We loved welcoming everyone to Rochester to recognize our 2021 regional award winners.

In April, we gathered in Denver for PTK Catalyst and were recognized with a Distinguished Regional Officer (Esther Alder, Century College), a Regional Award for Excellence in Career Readiness, and THREE "Top 100" Chapters (Alpha Alpha Gamma from Century, Alpha Kappa Alpha from Normandale, and Zeta Eta from Riverland)!

In June, our newly appointed regional officer team gathered for our annual planning retreat, bonded as a team, identified team values, and set their goals for the year.

In August, we launched our brand new regional newsletter and secured generous sponsorships from transfer partners who are eager to support you!

In October, we visited Fargo, ND for our fall leadership conference. Our regional officers delivered timely workshops and we were delighted to have Miguel Rodriguez, International Vice President for Division II and Dr. Rachel Gable share their insight and expertise with us.

In November, the regional team visited Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters in Jackson, MS for Regional Institute.

In December, well, we're finishing up our finals and looking forward to a much-earned break. We can't wait to see what 2023 has in store for Minn-Kota!

THANK YOU to all the members and advisors who connected with us in 2022! It's YOUR engagement that makes Phi Theta Kappa so special.

Every two seconds, someone in America needs blood. Help our regional alumni celebrate life by ensuring that patients in need get life saving blood.

Our Alumni Chapter is asking those of us who are able to make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross. It’s easy to find an appointment that’s near to you and every donation can help save up to three lives.

Regional Officer Resources

Last month we asked our Regional Officers to identify two resources to share with you. The first, a resource available to you as a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the second, a resource you can use to build a more inclusive and equitable chapter. We'll share these one more time for you to explore.

For Advisors

Please report your chapter officers and/or select your Hallmark Delegates by selecting their name in your member roster and "Add a Team Position" to their record. This ensures they can help write/submit your Hallmark entries and can receive important information from the region and HQ.

As you are likely aware, event/travel costs are increasing, and this past year Phi Theta Kappa discontinued the annual $5000 regional grant that always supported our programming. Our regional team is working on redesigning our events so that we can continue to grow as a region while being mindful of costs. However, we need to explore opportunities to increase revenue in as equitable a way as possible. Please offer your feedback using this simple Google Form. Your guidance is always appreciated.

Thank You, Sponsors!
