Your hard work is appreciated!
Health care services, assistance with basic needs, and alternate options for children's programs were some of the additional needs we were able to help fund during our first and second rounds of Disaster Recovery Fund grants. Here are a few organizations filling those needs in our community:

A Word From Our Board...
Erik Christian, CFCI Board Member
H ow did you become involved with the Community Foundation of Central Illinois?
During graduate school I did a project researching community foundations. I approached the Community Foundation of Central Illinois for an interview. Next thing I knew, I was on the Distribution Committee!

What do you like about your volunteer service with CFCI?
From staff, to partner agencies, to volunteers, the CFCI is full of people making a profound difference in Central Illinois.

What should everyone know about CFCI?
The CFCI is able to be very nimble and strategic with giving.  It can respond quickly when the need strikes (such as with the Central Illinois Disaster Recovery Fund). It can also tailor a donor's request towards a specific issue the donor is passionate about.

What are you looking forward to the most with CFCI in the next five years?
I'm excited to see the progress of the CFCI's strategic initiatives. The Ending Hunger Together fund is already having a profound impact on the area, and it is very timely, now that we have such an acute need with food insecurity due to COVID-19.  Of course, no one could have foreseen that several years ago when we started building the fund, but because of the hard work of many talented people, the CFCI was poised to make a difference when it was needed most.
Emerging Philanthropists Support Dream Center Peoria
Thank you to our Emerging Philanthropists Fund members who prepared food or made a financial donation to support the Dream Center Peoria  shelter meal. They delivered a full meal on Saturday, June 27th and raised enough money to cover the cost of another meal.
Thanks, again!
