DUI MAT Integration/Outreach Project 2.0
Project Update
Planting Seeds, Providing Resources, and Helping People
The DUI MAT Project is in full swing! 40 DUI programs throughout California are providing education on medication-assisted treatment options for opioid use disorder and treatment for polysubstance use disorders.

One method for assessing addiction is the DAST prescreen. The screening tool enables participants and counselors to evaluate substance use and determine if there may be a problem. DUI clients have completed an impressive 9,086 prescreens since April 1, 2021.

Once an addiction problem is identified, DUI clients are offered the DUI MAT program at no additional cost to the client. The program consists of a 2nd level assessment, treatment referrals, and additional counseling services. 52 people have taken the next step and joined the program since April 1, 2021.

Your daily efforts are making a huge difference in the lives of many. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for being a part of the DUI MAT Integration/Outreach Project!

MAT Expansion Partners
The MAT Expansion Project includes over 30 projects, all supporting the DHCS initiative to address the opioid crisis and other addictions. Learn about stimulant use support and Naloxone MAT Expansion projects below.
As part of the DHCS MAT Expansion efforts, supplemental funds are directed to address the rising trend of stimulant use identified among patients across the state.

UCLA ISAP launched the Stimulant Use Disorder Projects, which aim to understand patterns of use and risk for these substances, evaluate how programs are addressing polysubstance use, understand the current landscape of treatments for stimulant use disorder in publicly-funded specialty programs and primary care settings across California, and increase the uptake of evidence-based resources.
550,000 Units of Naloxone Distributed and 27,000 Overdoses Reversed through the MAT Expansion Project!

Be prepared for an overdose situation. Apply for free Naloxone for your DUI Program locations at: Naloxone Applications.

The DUI MAT Integration/Outreach Project 2.0 is one of over 30 projects to receive State Overdose Response II (SOR II) funding in support of the overall goals of California's MAT Expansion Project. DUI MAT 2.0 will build upon the success of DUI MAT 1.0 and will help to fulfill the objective to Transform entry points for individuals with opioid and poly-substance use disorders and create effective referrals into treatment.
This project is a result of a partnership between DHCS and CADTP through California’s State Opioid Response II (SOR II) Grant funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and The California Medication MAT Expansion Project.
