AN E-NEWSLETTER FOR BORGIA ALUMS
A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Dear Alumni,

Wow, what a summer!

Since moving to Washington, my family and I have been welcomed by so many community members. Meeting alums or friends of Borgia on campus or around town has been inspiring. Researching the school as a presidential candidate, one theme that emerged time and again was that the community support for the school is incredible. It is clear that Borgia is a family, and we are thrilled to be a part of the Borgia tradition.

And not only as the unofficial ‘first family.’ On August 11, the school hosted the annual New Parent Dinner and had a tremendous turnout. Many Borgia alumni were in attendance, about to entrust their freshman with us. I asked the group how many were about to be high school parents for the first time and was pleasantly surprised that almost half the room raised a hand. My wife Ellen and I fall into that category, as our daughter Abigail starts her Borgia experience this fall. She adds a personal element to my professional devotion to working every day to provide the highest quality Christ-centered education possible.

I look forward to meeting more of you throughout the year - on campus or in the community. I’ll be attending as many home sporting and fine arts events as possible. In addition, my goal is to be out and about in the surrounding communities, and I hope to have the opportunity to meet many of you. Your perspective helps build my knowledge of Borgia and will also help mold a bright vision for the future of St. Francis Borgia High School. Together, we’ll continue our tradition of being rooted in faith, tradition, and academic excellence.

Sincerely,

Matt Schutte
President
