Spotlight: API Journeys Toward Community Healing
API Journeys Toward Community Healing
Thursday, June 24th, from 6 pm - 8 pm EDT

The API Coalition has created the API Journeys Toward Community Healing is a space for API community members to reflect on what their cultural identity as an API person means to them and the society we live in. We hope to co-create a space where we can explore what community healing can look like together. No matter where you are on your individual healing journey, we welcome you to the space to join us. Live captions will be provided, and non-API folks are welcome to attend!

This event will feature Jeanie Chang and Gabes Torres as guest speakers. The field office has also allowed for this interactive event to be counted for field credit. Students should confirm participation with their individual field instructors, being mindful of any other field related responsibilities they may be committed to doing. Students should add these activities to their educational agreements (OEA’s) and include participation in the justification section of their OEA’s. If you have any questions, or need any support in obtaining field credit for our event, please feel free to contact apic-board@umich.edu or dlcu@umich.edu with any questions!
Virtual Events
To best support the graduate and undergraduate undocumented and DACAmented student community at the University of Michigan, the Student Community of Progresive Empowerment (SCOPE), is hosting its annual fundraiser. SCOPE is a student-led and student-run organization at the University of Michigan that supports, connects, and empowers undocumented and DACA students at the university. Unfortunately, undocumented students and their families do not have access to federal or state relief funds. In addition, there are few financial resources available to undocumented students, and the few resources that are available are quickly exhausted. Our students and their families continue to experience financial insecurity and are in urgent need of assistance.

SCOPE is aiming to raise $10,000 to support undocumented students cover tuition, housing costs, food, transportation, DACA renewal fees, medical expenses along with other expenses not covered by university aid. 100% of the proceeds go directly to undocumented and DACA students at the University of Michigan
