Grande Reserve Elementary School Families,

We are looking for someone to supervise lunch and/or recess from 1:30-3:30 on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This opportunity could come with additional hours on given days as necessary.

Report cards went live Thursday, 1/28/21 at 5:00pm. If you are having trouble accessing the report card, please call the office at 630-553-5513.

MAP reports were sent home with face-to-face students today, Friday, 1/29/21. If you didn't receive one, please let your student's teacher know and we can get it to you. The report summarizes your student's mathematics and reading achievement. MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your child’s level of learning. As a student responds to questions, the test responds to the student, adjusting in difficulty. MAP® tests are untimed, but a test is usually completed in less than 60 minutes. Please understand that the district is aware that the COVID-19 pandemic could have a potential impact on student standardardized test scores and D115 will do everything possible to remediate any related learning gaps. For more information or resources visit www.nwea.org, or download the Parent Toolkit at https://www.nwea.org/parent-toolkit/. There is also a brief two minute tutorial available at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OopQOQdmGRCbN8SqzXcJoXhArrgWuIwu/view that explains the student report.

Teachers, parents, or students are encouraged to complete the referral form if they have a specific concern about a student's social emotional well-being. A school administrator or student services staff member will respond accordingly. Access the form here:

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to continually enhance our services to our families.

Sincerely,
Michele Breyne
GRES Principal
Valentine's Day Celebration
Valentine's Day is approaching and like the Halloween and winter celebrations, our staff, with the support of the PTO, is planning some fun activities for their students. Same as before, please do not send anything (gifts, gift bags, valentine's, etc.) to school to be distributed to others.
SEAKers
Grande Reserve has joined the SEAKers in completing weekly kindness challenges! SEAKers, which stands for Students Engaging in Acts of Kindness, was created by Mandy Kelly, a 6th grade teacher in California. The goal of the SEAKers is to “make the world a better place through small acts of kindness”. Each week students will be challenged with small acts such as holding the door open, doing an extra chore at home, or giving someone a genuine compliment. Each week we will shoutout the class with the most SEAKers!

Families are welcome to join in at home too! Check out the SEAKers website and facebook page below!
Please send us any photos of your child(ren) doing Acts of Kindness; we'd love to feature them! :)
Staff & Teacher Feature

"Mrs. Walton is truly a dedicated teacher! She is one to help students build their self-confidence and truly goes the extra mile to help students achieve their learning goals. Thank you Mrs. Walton for being extra special to all of us!"
"Mrs Smith is a rockstar! She has made kindergarten so much fun for her students during this challenging year. She has gone above & beyond. My daughter is so excited about having her own play doh, writing with shaving cream and giving high 5’s with fly swatters. She can’t wait to go to school everyday! The students (and parents) are so grateful for Mrs. Smith."
