2022 Year in Review: Business Growth
The City of Chandler, Arizona continues to be a place where businesses go to grow. This past year, we welcomed several new companies to Chandler and saw others expand their operations. New development projects are creating opportunities for additional business growth and some key redevelopment projects have brought activity back to underutilized properties.

Exciting projects announced in Chandler during 2022 include:

Celebrate science at the annual Chandler Innovation Fair
Join the City of Chandler in celebrating the exploration of invention by attending the Chandler Innovation Fair. This annual event showcases businesses, artists, students and innovators in the community as Chandler participates in the statewide Arizona SciTech Festival. This year's festivities will be held in Downtown Chandler on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Now in its 12th year, the City is again partnering with the Chandler Unified School District's Innovation Fair, which brings about greater district participation. This free event offers unique opportunities for attendees to explore the discoveries of science engineered in their own backyard and taught in Chandler Unified schools.

Local K-12 schools and organizations have once again been invited to participate in the Annual Chandler Innovation Fair Competition. Six winning teams will be awarded a $500 prize that will be presented to their school's science club or program for the most educational, most creative and most passionate projects.

The City and CUSD are inviting science-oriented companies and organizations to participate as exhibitors. The deadline to register as an exhibitor is Feb. 4. More than 90 exhibitors participated in last year's event.
ICYMI: Chandler ranks among top cities for income equality
The City of Chandler, Arizona is committed to building a community that creates economic opportunities for all residents and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.

City Monitor recently published an analysis of income inequality within 90 of the largest cities in the United States. According to the analysis, Chandler ranked sixth nationally for most even income distribution across its population.

Chandler also ranked among the top cities looking at racial income disparity. "In other key tech and business cities, Seattle, Atlanta, Washington, DC, and Chicago, black household income is less than 40% of the average white household. On the other end of the spectrum, in cities like Santa Ana, Tucson, Irving and Chandler in California, Texas and Arizona, respectively, black and Hispanic household incomes are closer to their white counterparts."
ICYMI: Gummi World breaks dietary supplement barriers with grand opening of Chandler facility
Gummi World, a leading dietary supplement manufacturer, recently celebrated the ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony for its new 55,000-square-foot dietary supplement manufacturing facility in Chandler, Arizona.

Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke, the Arizona Commerce Authority, along with the City of Chandler and community leaders joined Gummi World President Alexander Candelario to celebrate the grand opening of the multi-million-dollar facility, which will bring hundreds of new jobs to the area.

“We are so happy to be in Chandler," said Alexander Candelario, President of Gummi World, at the grand opening. "Chandler has made us feel welcome — we feel we've found a home here for our new manufacturing facility."

“We are excited that Gummi World has chosen the West Chandler employment corridor for its new manufacturing facility,” said Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke. “We appreciate Gummi World’s investment in Chandler and look forward to watching them grow in the years ahead.”
