"Agree with God, and be at peace; thereby good will come to you. Receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart." --- Job 22:21-22
PRAYER THOUGHT
Peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of Christ. Real peace always begins with a relationship with God. Finding peace with God leads to finding peace in oneself, and find peace with yourself leads to finding peace with others.
Without great trials, we would have no great victories. The Lord reveals Himself in the difficulties of life as our Deliverer and our Lord. The psalmist tells us, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers us out of them all (Psalm 34:19).
ACTION PLAN
Notice that the promise of peace carries with it a condition to trust in God. Whatever is going on in our country, we need to trust God. As we trust Him, He will fill us with His peace. Then we can pray a prayer for God's peace.
