Answer the Call
Help Slow the Spread of COVID-19
|
|
DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) Case Investigators and Contact Tracers are reaching out to individuals who have COVID-19 and their close contacts.
Calls are being made through the number 312-777-1999 which may appear as COVID CONTACT. During these calls, staff will make sure that anyone who has COVID-19, as well as their close contacts, has the necessary support to isolate or quarantine safely. If you miss a call from the number 312-777-1999 or COVID CONTACT, please call back at 312-777-1999 to speak with DCHD staff.
Please do your part; answer the call and provide our staff with all the information needed to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.
By participating and answering our questions, you will protect the lives of your family, friends, and community members by helping to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Please note:
Any information you share with public health workers is CONFIDENTIAL. This means that your personal and medical information will be kept private.
Public health staff will NEVER ask for:
- Money
- Debit/Credit Card or Bank Account Information
- Social Security Numbers (SSN)
- Immigration Status

Quarantine and Isolation
What's the Difference?
|
|
We must all do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities. This includes knowing when we should stay home and away from others to avoid unknowingly passing the virus on to our friends, families and neighbors.
Below are two terms that you should understand:
Isolation: Anyone with suspected or known COVID-19 infection needs to isolate and stay home (except for medical care) for at least 10 days from their symptom onset date (or first positive lab test date for persons without symptoms).
Quarantine: Anyone who has had close contact* with a person who has COVID-19 needs to quarantine and stay home except for medical care. During this time, check your temperature twice a day and watch for symptoms of COVID-19.
*A close contact is an individual who has been 6 feet or closer for more than 15 minutes with a person with COVID-19 or has had direct contact with fluids from a person with COVID-19 (for example, being coughed or sneezed on, sharing eating or drinking utensils), or has had direct physical contact with a person with COVID-19 (hugged or kissed them), or has provided care at home to someone who is sick with COVID-19.

IDPH Launches
Travel Map to Provide Guidance on Travel Risk

|
IDPH has launched its new COVID-19 travel map to help inform residents of potential risks associated with traveling during the pandemic. The map indicates countries and U.S. states with increased risk of COVID-19 based on case rates.

Blue indicates that the state or country is experiencing lower risk.

Purple indicates that the state or country is experiencing higher risk.
When you do travel, remember to practice the 3 Ws:
- Wear a face covering.
- Watch your physical distance by staying at least 6 feet apart from others.
- Wash your hands with soap and water.

Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) is Assisting Households
Impacted by COVID-19
|
|
Families that have been unable to pay their rent due to COVID-19, can now apply for financial assistance through IHDA. Funds are limited so families are encouraged to complete an application as early as possible. Only one application per household is allowed. If approved, families will receive a $5,000 grant that will be sent directly to their landlord to be applied
against their rent.
► The deadline for renters to apply has been extended to 12 p.m. on August 28.
During this time, it is still important to continue paying as much of the rent as possible. In addition to talking to the landlord on a regular basis about the situation.

DuPage County
Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing Site
|
|
DuPage County is offering community-based COVID-19 drive-thru testing at the DuPage County Complex. The entrance is located on County Farm Road a few blocks North of Roosevelt Road at a stoplight. Follow the signs through the campus to the test site.
The testing site is open Tuesday through Saturday from 7 am until the daily test limit is reached.No appointment, symptoms or insurance is required.
► New Hours: Beginning Monday, August 31, 2020, the DuPage County COVID-19 Testing Site will be open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to noon or until the daily test capacity is met.

Pillars Community Health
COVID-19 Testing in Willowbrook
|

Pillars Community Health offers drive-up testing for COVID-19 outside of Anne M. Jeans Elementary School in Willowbrook.
► New Location: The testing site will be moving to the Burr Ridge Middle School north parking lot beginning Tuesday, August 25, 2020.
Limited tests available; appointment required; please call 708-PILLARS (708-745-5277) .
Testing is available on Tuesdays 9 am-Noon and Thursdays from 9 am-1 pm to
anyone with symptoms of COVID-19; or anyone with a known exposure to COVID-19 (have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19); or asymptomatic, high-risk patients, first responders, health care workers, or essential workers who wish to be tested.

VNA Health Care COVID-19 Testing

|
VNA Health Care offers COVID-19 testing by appointment only to new and existing patients with or without symptoms.
Community mobile testing clinics are also available in Bensenville and West Chicago through VNA Health Care.
