RUNNING CLUB FOR 2ND GRADE STARTS TOMORROW
|
|
We’re very excited to add the SECOND GRADE to our Running Club.
2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders run weekly on Tuesday and Thursday beginning Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
You do not have to sign your child up for Running Club. They automatically receive a badge.
TUESDAY AND THURSDAY SCHEDULE

7:58 RUNNING CLUB STARTS
8:10 RUNNING CLUB OVER: Students finish their lap.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
- Running Club (RC) badges have been distributed to your 2nd Grade child at school.
- Students who wish to participate in RC should report directly to the field and leave their backpacks, etc. nearby. They do NOT have to go to their classrooms/patios first. Students arriving after the start of RC may join after it has begun.
- Students don’t have to RUN. They may walk/jog.
- The Marathon bracelets and certificates will be distributed to students the week after they are earned.
- Popsicles as 10-mile rewards will NOT be distributed at this time however we are working on an alternative reward/ incentive.

VIEW YOUR STUDENT’S RUNS
To view your child’s mileage each time they run, download the free STRIDE TRACK APP. You will need your child’s 14 digit runner ID to register them, which can be found on their badge. Once registered, you can view their mileage with the app. Lap scans are usually uploaded the same day.

This program is volunteer run program from your PTA and is a work in progress. We’re all working hard to make this fun for the kids and appreciate your support.

Dear Parents,
If you have anything that would make a great auction item, i.e. signed sports paraphernalia or a vacation home for a night or two, tickets to a sporting event, gift cards, etc. or personal contacts with a local business owner who would like to market to over 300 parents at our event, we greatly appreciate your participation.
How do these donations work and benefit both the donor and Jefferson PTA?
Donations from businesses and/or families (restaurants, stores, kids’ camps, experiences, services, gift certificates, vacation homes, etc.) provide a tax deduction and a direct way of marketing to Redondo Beach families.
In exchange for the item, the business will be recognized on all our communication channels: website, social media, mobile app, and weekly newsletter to almost 1000 parents and community members. Furthermore, the business will be recognized on the auction website, mobile bidding app, and also on displays at the Silent Auction venue.

SKECHERS PIER-TO-PIER WALK GRANT
|
|
In 2021, Jefferson crushed its goal of registered Skechers Pier-to-Pier Walk participants! Our school had 272 registered walkers (virtual or in-person).
Jefferson will receive a grant of $12,240.00
from RBEF for our participation in the Skechers Walk.
A huge THANK YOU to all families who participated in the Walk and to RBEF and Skechers for the generous grant.
