ART AROUND TOWN: FREE FALL EDITION
Things to See & Do in Baltimore This October

Please join neighbors in Reservoir Hill and Bolton Hill on Friday, October 15, from 10:00 a.m. –12:00 p.m. to dedicate a new pair of murals as part of the ongoing revival of Central West Baltimore. The murals were painted by Baltimore artist and educator Ernest Shaw with funding support from BOPA's community arts grant. This event will include a brief tour of the murals, remarks from the family of Rep. Elijah Cummings, and conversation with city leaders and neighbors. BROS FEATURING THE ARENA PLAYERS
A Night of Puppetry Paired with Dancehall Classics

On Friday, October 15, at 7:00 p.m., the Baltimore Rock Opera Society (BROS) is teaming up with Arena Players, the oldest continuously operating African-American community theater in the U.S., on a free screening of BROS' first full-length feature film, "Holes: A Puppet Anthology," along with a musical review of songs from Arena Player's tribute to 1940s dancehall classics, JUKEBOX. Legacy Fest is an outdoor art festival on Saturday, October 16, from 2:00–8:00 p.m. in the Pennsylvania Avenue Black Arts & Entertainment District
featuring creatives celebrating the past, present, and future of cultural expression in Baltimore City. The event will feature performing artists, bands, dancers, spoken word artists, and more, with local vendors selling food, art, and merchandise. There will also be a kids play area with fun activities!

And the Legacy of the Sphinx Club

On Saturday, October 16, from 1:00–3:00 p.m., celebrate the legacy of Charles P. Tilghman, entrepreneur, impresario, and visionary who created the internationally famous Sphinx Club. From 1946–1992, anyone who was anyone knew about the Sphinx Club. At night, great acts would perform and during the day, Mr. Tilghman provided space to voter registration drives and civil rights campaigns for a better Baltimore. Get the event details below.

The Baltimore Farmers’ Market & Bazaar continues maintaining public health regulations to provide a safe experience for all.
