Complete Student Assignment Planning Survey by October 22!
This is a friendly reminder to our staff members and parents/guardians to complete the Student Assignment Planning survey before the window closes on Friday, October 22! Parents and staff should have received a link to complete the survey via email between September 23 and October 2. Survey links are also available online (English Survey / Spanish Survey). As a reminder, this is all part of a multi-year process to develop a comprehensive Student Assignment Plan in order to modernize our district structure and address historic inequities that continue to most significantly impact students of color. This may include changes to school attendance areas, reconsideration of a more equitable selection process for magnet schools and programs, and establishing a local school in the Fifth Ward.

Student Assignment Planning is critical for the future of our public schools and has the potential to impact every member of our community. This is why we need to hear from you! Complete the survey as soon as you can!

The window to complete the survey is October 18-29 and students will be able to access the survey via their D65 email account. Scheduling Parent Teacher Conferences for Middle School Families
Parent/teacher conferences will be held in a virtual format on Tuesday, October 19 and Wednesday, October 20 for our middle school families. This year, the district is utilizing a new online tool that will allow families to seamlessly schedule conferences with educators. This platform, PowerPTC, provides families with the opportunity to easily book their conference at the click of a button. To access this platform and to schedule a meeting with your student’s educator(s), parents and guardians must have a PowerSchool Parent Portal account. To create a PowerSchool account, please review the following instructions (available in English and Spanish). For our elementary school families, as well as our Park and Rice families, information about scheduling conferences should have been sent by your child's school. If you have questions, please reach out to the school directly.

Please use the PowerPTC link to sign-up for your conference today. Upon clicking the link, please select the language that you’d like to navigate the platform through. In order to schedule a conference with an educator, parents/guardians must register using the PowerPTC link provided. If you have questions related to scheduling a conference with an educator or if technical issues arise, please reach out to your students’ principal.
