Dear SunCoast friends and family,
Our Congregational Care Team is always in conversation with God on our behalf. But their work goes beyond prayer! When a church member, congregant or friend of the church is experiencing an illness, health problem, or other challenging life situation, the Pastors/Coordinator of Congregational Care are notified. They assess the needs and determine how the church may respond. These options may include hospital visits, home visits, accompanying them to doctor's offices, making phone calls, providing prayer and communion, as well as sending cards. Their dedication to us is never ending. They make connections with those who need to hear a kind voice, need a shoulder to cry on, need someone to just listen without judgment, or need a card greeting so they know we are thinking about them. They are the hands, heart and voice of God ensuring people know they are loved as a child of God.
In addition to our Congregational Care Team, we have our Prayer Partners that are always raising prayers for us, the Church and the community.
Prayer: The first wireless communication and it can't be hacked! You can invite others into your conversation or have a private conversation. It allows you to add everyone to your friends list...even those who don't accept your friend request.
-Webster defines prayer as "an address (such as a petition) to God or a god in word or thought."
The ministry these groups provide is the epitome of living the life that God has instructed us to do:
"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people" ~1 Timothy 2:1
You may never see these people actively at work but they are always there to pray on your behalf and do what is needed to help all of our members, friends and community.
Grace, Love and Peace,
Rev. Vickie Miller | Rev. Nancy Wilson
