Your Weekly News from the Collin County Democratic Party

Congratulations to our presumptive Democratic candidates for President and Vice President, Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris!
Ann Richards Dinner 2020
We are so grateful for everyone who is supporting our virtual Ann Richards Dinner on August 29. With their help, and yours, we will find new Democrats, flip Collin County, and win Texas this year.

We asked a few sponsors why they’re joining us on August 29th for this year’s Ann Richards Dinner.

“We care about the local Democratic Party. We want to elect local candidates and turn Collin County blue,” said Robert and Janet Miller, long-time sponsors of CCDP.

Jeanne Curtis believes that “There’s never been a more crucial time to support the Democratic agenda! For Collin County, the Ann Richards Dinner is a fun, vital, and important way to do that!”

We also want to thank these major sponsors: Mike and Diana Rawlins, Jack and Kathy Kennedy, Michael Payma for 471st District Judge, Pat Davis and Sally O’Brien, Craig and Carrie Petersen, Bill and Diane Bolak, Barbara Walters, James Foy, Mark Phariss and Vic Holmes, John and Robin Caldwell, Sharon Hirsch for House District 66, and Women Organizing Women Democrats (WOW Dems).

We are so grateful for these supporters and all our guests this year. You know how important our party’s work will be in 2020 and your support is what will make it all possible.

Reserve your ticket or sponsorship now, then tell us why you believe in building a better, bluer Collin County. We can’t wait to see you then and build our party for 2020 and beyond.

FAQs about the November General Election
Questions about the upcoming November General Election are coming up frequently.

This article answers many of those questions and provide resources for you.
If you have a question not answered, email: elections@collindemocrats.org
or call the CCDP Office at 972-578-1483

FAQs and useful information can be found on the County Elections Website.

FAQs are also available on the CCDP Website.

The most often asked questions:

Last day to register to vote: Monday, October 5, 2020 (mailed applications must be postmarked by October 5, 2020). Follow links above for more information on registering, changing an address, voting when overseas, etc.

Last day to apply for ballot-by-mail: Friday, October 23, 2020 (received not postmarked).

Complete your ballot as soon as you receive it and mail it immediately OR drop it off at Collin Elections Office at 2010 Redbud Blvd, Suite 102, McKinney.
You must drop off your OWN ballot and be prepared to show ID.

There was some question about the envelope needing two stamps. This is not the case.

However, some have sent both spouses’ ballots in same envelope – these likely cannot be counted. Mail them in separate envelopes or take them to the Elections Office.

Taking them in person to the Elections Office will avoid US Mail delays.

Phone banking is easy and fun! We give you a script so that all you have to do is fill in the blanks as you talk to voters. And training is available at each event. See you soon!

CCDWD Hosts Tom Adair, Chair
CCDP Voter Protection Committee
Ensuring that all eligible voters can vote is essential to our democracy and critical to the success of the Democratic Party in Collin County. Given the potential of turning this county blue this November, there are concerns some might try to suppress the vote.

Next Monday, August 17, Tom Adair, the Collin County Democratic Party’s new Voter Protection Chair, will discuss what the party is doing to protect everyone’s right to vote. Please join us on the 17th to learn more, provide your input, and ask your questions.
