Do you ever wonder how to make a good decision according to God’s will? Join us for a

discernment group specifcally geared toward young adults (ages 19–35). Here you will discuss all kinds of discernment—if you are called to consecrated life, married life or single life, to a certain career 0r city, and more. The goal of this group is to help you, and in some cases your significant other, know yourself, Jesus and your role within the Church.

These discernment groups will take place monthly over the course of seven months. At each session, you will listen to talks, have time for small group sharing, and have the opportunity for Mass, Confession and Adoration. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet individually with a spiritual director while doing this course.

Cost: $45 per person

Friday, August 13th – Sunday, August 15th

Calling all campers! St. Al’s YAM is bringing back a weekend filled with fun camping adventures for all young adults in their 20's and 30's!!!

We will be heading to Yellowstone Lake State Park (located about 3 hours NW of Chicago) for the weekend of August 13-15. The site offers opportunities for hiking, kayaking, and swimming along with plenty of s’mores and storytelling around the campfire and games. So what’re you waiting for?! Sign up and join us for a weekend of fun, food and friendship.

For Drivers: Your registration fee will be $40 https://www.givecentral.org/location/39/event/30689

Cost covers all campsite fees, transportation and firewood, as well as all meals for Saturday and Sunday breakfast.

Cars will depart Friday August 13th afternoon (at various times) and will return to St. Alphonsus on Sunday before the 5pm Mass on August 15th. Don’t miss out on this weekend getaway adventure with your fellow young adults! Space is limited to on a first come, first serve basis. Register now to join in on the weekend getaway! Registration will close Aug 10th.

Cancellation Policy: You have the ability to cancel at least 72 hours prior to registration closure for the event. If you register and have to cancel, you will be refunded the cost of your registration. Please email stalsyamsocial@gmail.com with any questions

Cocktails After Mass

Sunday, August 22nd | Post-5:00pm Mass

Join us for drinks and fellowship after the 5 p.m. Mass! Stay tuned on our Facebook page for more details on where we will be meet up for cocktails and apps. Stay, mingle, and have some drinks and dinner with St. Al's YAM Community. All are welcome! This is a great opportunity for new young adults to meet others in the young adult community in a laid back atmosphere. Hope to see you there!

Praise & Adoration (+drinks)

Friday, August 20th | 7:30pm

On Friday, August 20th, come spend time with our Lord in praise and adoration in the main church. We'll spend the first 15 minutes in silent adoration, and then our musicians will lead worship in song. The adoration hour will conclude with benediction, and we'll walk to Will's Northwoods after for drinks and fellowship!
