August 2021

Dear Members and Friends,

Just a few notes for August - most ASC activities have been quiet while we enjoy summer on MDI and visits with family and friends. But, behind the scenes we are gearing up for our fall classes, which begin on August 23rd, and the start of our Food for Thought series.

Planning for our grand 20th Anniversary Party is well underway - we hope to see you there!
Take good care of yourselves,

Janice Kenyon, ASC Administrator

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at USM offers the "OLLI Teaching Forum". This is an online discussion, lecture, and hands-on course designed for those currently teaching and those considering teaching.

Do you have a subject you love? Have you thought of sharing your knowledge with others?

Tell those friends of yours whom you know would be great instructors!

The Zoom class is open to all Maine Senior College members and will meet Tuesdays from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. beginning September 14th. Registration opens August 17 - reach out to OLLI at USM directly.

For more information about the class, see the OLLI Fall Class Brochure.

September Food for Thought

Friday, September 24th at Noon

Our fall Food for Thought series begins again with a special presentation on the ASC Racial Justice Initiative. Because Birch Bay (or an alternative venue) is not yet available we will offer the series by Zoom again. While we won't be breaking bread together just yet, the online series does allow more people to attend, is not weather dependent and folks can join from anywhere. Stay tuned for details and registration information.
