All Things New Prayer Walk
This Sunday, June 24, 2021, 1-3 pm
Join us for a unique prayer walk opportunity this Sunday from 1 to 3pm! This is a great opportunity for adults and keiki alike to reflectively walk through our beloved church campus and pray over each space and the lives that will be touched there through our ministries. There is no need to pre-register – just come to the church and check in outside of the Women’s Building. You will sign a COVID waver and receive a prayer sheet and a map of our prayer stations. Then, you will be able to do the walk at your own pace, soaking in the beauty of our outdoor spaces. The final station will have a box to drop off your estimate of giving card. Be sure to wear a mask and observe social distancing at all times!

Moment of Solidarity
On January 19th at 12:30pm the chimes at Central Union Church joined with thousands of other churches across the country in a moment of solidarity and remembrance. Across the country, the somber milestone of over 400,000 deaths from COVID-19 was marked by towns, landmarks, and faith communities in a moment of national unity. Just as we did on All Saints day, Central Union Church held a moment of prayer for the lives lost, the families broken, and the loved ones in mourning. It has been 10 months since we first went on lockdown here on O'ahu due to the pandemic. During this time the people of CUC have sought to care for the community through safe practices, direct service, and prayer. We will continue to follow Christ and love our neighbor.
Feeding the Multitude at ‘SERVING ALOHA’
By Evie Hao
Since Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020, Central Union Church has been distributing food to people who are suffering from food insecurity because of the economic effects of COVID-19. That first Wednesday, CUC served 220 people. Ten Wednesdays later, on Jan. 6, CUC served 450!
“At the beginning I was a bit freaked out with all the things which needed to be completed.”
That is the way Karl Hedberg felt in October as he was about to lead the “Serving Aloha” planning and implementation team for ministering to the hungry in our community. To read this full article, click here.
Learning Tree-Annex with Lloyd Lim
Topic: How to Read Your Pocket Constitution
Join CUC member Lloyd Lim on January 25 or January 27, from 5 to 6 PM for a 30-minute presentation on how to “short-circuit” those pocket U.S. Constitutions you might get from time to time from a politician or advocacy organization. Despite the brevity of this document, reading left to right, word for word, can be not much fun. Lloyd will give you the design ideas and interpreting principles for the Constitution which will help you get at what you need at any given moment quickly. After the presentation, there will be 30 minutes available for Q&A.
