StoryWalk in City Park
The City of Hagerstown Parks & Recreation and Washington County Free Library, in partnership with Meritus Health and Kiwanis of Hagerstown, are excited to announce the addition of a permanent StoryWalk in City Park.
StoryWalks promote health and wellness, as well as literacy. At the south end of the park, families will have the opportunity to walk along a designated trail while enjoying a featured children’s book page by page. Pedestals with frames to protect story pages are spaced along the path to be enjoyed at a leisurely or a brisk pace. Librarians will select new stories for the StoryWalk every few months so readers of all ages can enjoy the experience again and again.
This new trail will encourage parents to read more with their children, develop in families a love of healthy physical activity, give kids the opportunity to connect with nature and the outdoors, and provide our community with a wonderful place for making childhood memories.
City of Hagerstown Parks & Recreation, Washington County Free Library, Meritus Health, and Kiwanis of Hagerstown are all so excited to read and walk with you soon!
Contact: Sarah Nadeau, Community Partnerships Librarian, Washington County Free Library at snadeau@washcolibrary.org or 301-739-3250 ext. 168.

Who is ready to laugh? Grab your family and come see "Farce of Habit" a Jones, Hope, Wooten Comedy.
FARCE OF HABIT, an absurdly funny farce that takes us back to the Reel ’Em Inn, the finest little fishing lodge in the Ozarks. The proprietor, D. Gene Wilburn, is looking forward to a peaceful weekend on the lake. However, his wife, Wanelle, picked these three days to white-knuckle her way through caffeine withdrawal. Meanwhile, his cross-dressing son’s marriage is falling apart, and his trigger-happy sister is caught up in a bizarre undercover police assignment. Throw in a gaggle of nuns, a relationship guru with a colossal ego, the storm of the century and an axe murderer, and the results will have you rolling in the aisles.
Presented with permission from Dramatists Play Service Inc.
*Following the guidelines of the Governor and CDC fully vaccinated patrons are not required to wear masks. We do ask that all non-vaccinated patrons wear a mask inside our performing arts center.*
Tickets are $15 per person, available online and at the door.
