Our mission is to become Christ as we serve others, proclaim God’s love, and grow in the Spirit.

It's here this week! CHS has its own Zoom account!
|
Do not try to use your old Zoom logins for worship this week! The new logins are on the website and in this email. You will be admitted from a waiting room at both services. Many thanks to Eva Lesniak, Dave Dabour and John Rollins for the hours spent getting this new system set up!

Preparing for Sunday
Find the lessons appointed for Sunday - here >
In Sunday's readings, Samuel (Track 1) sees beyond outward appearances to choose the least likely son of Jesse to anoint as king and Ezekiel (Track 2) gives the Israelites hope that one day God will restore their strength. Paul reminds his Corinthian communities that our eternal dwelling is not found here on earth but is with the Lord. In the gospel, Jesus uses two parables to describe how God’s dynamic presence—the kingdom—grows in our lives.

Black Bag with Father Phil
|
Children of all ages are encouraged to volunteer for the Black Bag chats at the 10:00 am service. For the past several years, children (and some not so young anymore) have brought an object with special meaning to be presented just before the sermon. Fr. Phil will discuss the presentation with the child and find a connection between it and the Gospel. This will be a live-only project; no Zoom presentations. Want to sign up? Send your name and the date you would like to participate to Admin@churchholyspirit.org

VBS happens August 2-6 this summer for children entering grades K-12 in September. We have planned a Holy Hike with Julie Stine for a visit to the Marlow’s goat farm –what a realistic way to teach about the Good Shepherd--and an overnight for the older children (grade 6 and up) on Thursday night.
