Phase 3 Reopening July 6 Indoor Dining Postponed
Happy and Safe 4th of July!
Phase 3 Reopening on July 6: Indoor Dining Postponed
New York Forward Reopening Plan - New York City is expected to enter Phase Three of reopening on Monday, July 6 but without any indoor dining allowed . In Phase Three, personal care businesses, including nail salons, tattoo and piercing facilitates, massage therapy, spas, and waxing businesses are permitted to resume operations. Restaurants and bars are still limited to only outdoor seating . Businesses must follow industry guidelines outlined by the Governor’s Office, including requirements for social distancing, communicating to employees, cleanliness and hygiene, and health screening.
Before businesses can reopen, they must:
  • Develop a safety plan and post it at their work site.
  • Read New York State (NYS) guidelines and affirm compliance. The State requires that you affirm that you have reviewed and understand the State-issued industry guidelines and that you will implement them. Businesses can fill out the affirmation form here
  "Open Restaurants" Updated Safety Guidelines
Safe Open Restaurants – SBS, DOT, and the Mayor’s Office of Nightlife are working together to make Open Restaurants safe for everyone. Please note that some regulations have changed since the launch of the program. Find the most up-to-date information and application at nyc.gov/openrestaurants
Restaurant owners must comply with the following requirements for roadway seating, including the new retro-reflectivity requirement and other clarifications, or face revocation of permission to participate in the program.   The below requirements are for the safety of diners, employees, and other street users.
  • Create a protective barrier, such as planters or objects of similar size and weight, on all three sides of the seating perimeter that are in the roadway, to separate seating from the travel lane. Such barriers must be at least 18" in width and 30–36" in height (excluding plantings) on all three sides that are in the roadway, to preserve visibility for motorists and provide protection for patrons
  • Place such barriers directly adjacent to each other (no gaps) and no more than 8' from the curb
Ensure visibility of patrons and barriers at night by clearly marking all barriers with yellow high intensity retro-reflective tape or reflectors.
A streamlined process allowing open air dining has been approved until October 31, managed by DOT - see dashboard here nycopenrestaurant.info .

You can fill your Census 2020 questionnaire HERE. Over the next decade, lawmakers, business owners, and many others will use 2020 Census data to make critical decisions. The results will show where communities need new schools, new clinics, new roads, and more services for families, older adults, and children.
The results will also inform how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding are allocated to more than 100 programs, including Medicaid, Head Start, etc.

We encourage all businesses to actively use social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), to inform customers of operational updates.
