Melissa Feuer officially began her new role as acting dean of the College of Professional Studies on Sept. 1.
Feuer steps in to replace Dr. Christopher J. Deering, who will be taking a sabbatical this upcoming year and returning to the faculty.

Congratulations to Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) students Bridget Anshus, Jacqueline Beckwith, Samantha Chavin and Thomas Erb for winning The Bryce Harlow Foundation Fellowships.
The Foundation awards fellowships to outstanding graduate students pursuing careers in professional advocacy through government relations and lobbying.

Expanded Online Teaching Resources Now Available for Faculty Use
The CPS instructional design team announced the expansion of online teaching resources for faculty and training classes this summer. The resources include numerous recorded webinars, videos and additional resources to help faculty maximize their teaching effectiveness.

NAPLP Alumni Tackle Digital Disparities during COVID-19 Pandemic |
|
Affordable broadband service is more important than ever, but limited connectivity on tribal lands has intensified the COVID-19 pandemic’s negative impact on the health and economic well-being of indigenous communities.
This summer, six alumni of the Native American Political Leadership Program (NAPLP) interned at AT&T to facilitate tribal consultation and collaboration to develop individualized solutions to close the digital divide between Indian Country and the rest of the United States.

CPS Bids Associate Dean Adele Ashkar A Fond Farewell |
Adele Ashkar says she began teaching landscape design at GW one night a week in 1987. Since that time, she has held numerous roles at the university and become an essential part of the CPS leadership team. She has worked for CPS since 2003, most recently as the associate dean of academic excellence and associate professor of landscape design. She retired from GW on August 31.
