Events Planned for the Whole Family
March Family Night & Wonderful Worms
On Tuesday, March 22 bring the whole family to the Meeting Room from 6:30-7:30 p.m. to learn about the wonders of worms. Family nights give adults and youngsters the chance to explore and experiment together. This month we’ll have activities and games, and even a snack, that will help you appreciate the lowly worm.
Captain Underpants Party for Spring Break
Children in grades 1st-5th grade are invited to attend our Kid’s Movie Matinee & Captain Underpants Party on Tuesday, March 29 from 2:00-4:00 PM in the Meeting Room. We’ll start off with some crazy games inspired by the Captain Underpants book series. There will be snacks and drinks and then we’ll settle in to watch Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (PG). No registration is required and there is no fee to attend.
What's Happening in the Creative Corner
Come to the Creative Corner between March 21-31 to make a Grassy Hair Creature! Decorate a cup to look like a creature or a person, and then plant some grass seed in your cup. Take it home and in a week the grass will sprout and you can “style” your creatures hair. Cut it and it will come back so you can make another wild hair-do!
March Art Spark with Miss Julie
Looking for something fun to do during Spring Break? Kids in grades 3 – 8 are invited to get creative at the library making and swapping Artist Trading Cards. We’ll try out some interesting techniques to make these tiny works of art, then trade them with our artist friends. The program will take place on Thursday, March 31 from 3:00 – 4:30. No registration is required.

Aperture: A Discussion of The Hitch-Hiker
Monday, April 4
6:30-7:30 p.m.

Movies have a way of capturing our imagination and lodging in our memory like no other popular art form can.

April's selection is His Girl Friday, a witty and fast-talking screwball comedy from 1940 directed by Howard Hawks and starring Cary Grant, Rosalind Russell, and Ralph Bellamy. The film follows a newly engaged newspaper reporter (Russell) and her editor and former husband (Grant) as they try to free a man from death row. All the while, Grant's character is trying to win her back.

His Girl Friday is available to be streamed for free on Kanopy (details available on the library website). Register by filling out the linked form, and you can either come to the library at the time of the event to participate in person, or connect virtually. Details will be sent to you.

We hope to see you there!

This program was made possible with support from the Tipp City Foundation and the American Library Association’s American Rescue Plan: Humanities Grants for Libraries program.
