Dear SMCS Families,

Thank you for your continued support. The teachers and I appreciate all your help in making sure that school continues to run smoothly and safely.

Families who selected to start the school year with remote learning were invited to have their students return to campus after 1st quarter progress reports. We look forward to welcoming back some of our remote learning students on Monday.

Last week, we were closed on Tuesday, September 22, due to the inclement weather. In order to make up the time we missed, we will not have early dismissal on Friday, November 20, January 29, or March 26. On these Fridays, we will have regular dismissal at 3:00/3:25 pm.  Please click here to see the updated calendar.

Thank you again for all of your support! Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the beautiful fall weather!

Blessings,
Dr. Kathleen Cox

St. Michael Catholic School Annual Fund
FAQ Zoom Meetings

The Annual Fund is a symbol of our commitment to the Mission of St. Michael Catholic School. The SMCS Annual Fund will launch the week of October 12, 2020.

This year's theme, Anchored in Faith, reminds us that our Catholic Faith is central and at the core of the St. Michael experience. We look forward to celebrating your support and encouraging strong community participation during our Week of Giving Celebration to be held during Catholic Schools Week, January 31-February 5, 2021.

This year we are offering two opportunities for families to learn more about how Annual Fund gifts directly impact our students, hear from this year's chairs Casey and Skip Redd, and ask questions about the importance of the fund. Save the Date for our Annual Fund Zoom Meetings and we hope you will be able to attend one of the gatherings.

To learn more about the Annual Fund or to make a gift, please visit the Annual Fund Website. St. Michael Catholic School certainly appreciates that we are living in uncertain times and understands that a philanthropic gift may carry a different weight to our families this year. Through your generosity, Annual Fund gifts provide the opportunity for our community to continue keeping our Catholic Faith central to our children's formation. Annual Fund questions may be directed to Director of Development Laura Dols, at [email protected].

CHANGES REGARDING SUNDAY MASS

Beginning Sunday, October 4th, 1:00 pm Mass will be added back to our Sunday Mass schedule. In the meantime, we will have a live video stream offered in the Tiger Gymnasium at 11:00 am. When the church has filled to 25% capacity, we will begin seating in the gym where you can watch Mass. As Holy Communion is being distributed in the church, one of our deacons will be ushered to the gym with the Blessed Sacrament. Those who wish to receive the Eucharist may do so.

All protocols that pertain to the Archdiocesan guidelines regarding social distancing and masks will be followed in both spaces. We hope this will keep us from having to turn people away.

We will start with the 11:00 am Sunday Mass, and if there is a need to add additional overflows, we will do so. While this may not be a perfect solution, it is our best attempt to welcome all who wish to attend Sunday Mass at St. Michael Parish.
