Hello Walden School Families! I’m thrilled to see you all! I’m Chris Kaftan and I’m the interim principal of Walden. I am a white male with a brown beard, brown hair, and wearing a light blue button-down shirt.

I have a few announcements to share with you all today.

  • Today is October 1, and the first month of school has gone by so fast! We’re getting into the swing of things here at school and there are many events happening this month.
  • On October 11, we are celebrating Indigenous People's Day, and school is closed that day. Our teachers will be having discussions in classes about Indigenous People.
  • Our Homecoming event was scheduled for October 16, but with continued concerns regarding COVID-19, we are canceling the Homecoming event itself. We will keep our scheduled athletic games. Families of athletes and TLC staff are allowed to watch and cheer on our elementary, junior varsity, and varsity teams that day!
  • Also happening in October is our annual Autumn Harvest celebration for students. We will keep you updated on the party event for students.

October 8 marks the mid-quarter mark of the first quarter of school. This is an opportunity for following teachers and content teachers to communicate with students how they are doing in classes and for students to get support they need to finish the quarter strong. Have a great week!

Below, please find a link to watch our Open House from last week.

Have a great weekend!
Chris Kaftan
