*File footage of Russian pastors discussing a building seizure of a local church congregation.

A call for national repentance from more than 400 Russian church and seminary leaders was posted on a small Russian Christian website, then quickly removed. A Russian lawyer instructed Russian churches via Facebook how to avoid trouble when they pray for peace during their worship services. A popular Russian pastor assured Russian Christians that private prayers to God to end the war are sufficient fulfillment of their spiritual responsibilities.

These three examples from this month illustrate how Russia’s new law, Article 20.3.3, is causing Russian pastors to “count the cost” before speaking or even praying publicly about their country’s actions in Ukraine.

Warmly in Christ,
Pastor Foley and Dr. Foley

Churches in Ukraine continue to evangelize despite the uncertainty and danger all around them. One Baptist church preaches the gospel wherever they can – in bomb shelters, and even in open residential areas like in the video below.

In the video, a church member reads from Psalm 91. Right before he reads verse 5, an explosion occurs nearby. But he continues reading!

Psalm 91:5 – You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day.

Even though God's power is completely different from the world's power, we often trust in the world's power.

The world's power appears more tangible and real, while God's power appears weak.

The underground church is often unable to rely on earthly power, so they must completely rely on the power of God.

And this is what makes the underground church so powerful.

Praise – We give the Lord thanks for a much needed and successful radio studio renovation!

Pray for our China and Maldives radio projects. We are starting brand-new short-wave radio broadcasts in the spring of this year in both of these countries. Both places block Christian internet sites and restrict churches from worshipping. This makes the perfect setting for the gospel to be broadcast on short-wave radio. Pray for the gospel to be clearly broadcast and heard in these two countries over the next few months!

Pray for our partners in Ukraine. Some people are understandably leaving the area due to the conflict, but others have decided to stay and continue ministering. Pray for those pastors who continue to live and work in the self-proclaimed states of the LPR/DPR.
