Achievement Spotlight: Bita Milanian
IAWF would like to congratulate distinguished leader and member of IAWF Circle of 100, Bita Milanian, on her promotion and new position . Last month, Bita Milanian was named SVP of Global Marketing at GENBAND, a global leader in real time communications software solutions for service providers, enterprises, independent software vendors, system integrators and developers in over 80 countries. Her responsibilities include leading the company's global products, solutions and digital marketing, go-to-market and channel marketing strategy, corporate communications, trade-shows and events, as well as analyst, media and public relations efforts. A marketing and business development professional with extensive experience in strategic planning and maximizing market opportunities, Bita has contributed to the growth and success of many corporations and non-profit and industry organizations. New York

On Jan. 11, 2016, Anna Kaplan announced her candidacy for Congresswoman of New York's Third Congressional District. Serving her second term as Council Member in the Town of North Hempstead representing Great Neck, Manhasset, Roslyn and North Hills, Anna was first elected in 2011, becoming the first Iranian-American elected to municipal office in New York State. If elected, Anna would also be the first ever Iranian-American in the U.S. Congress. Check out Anna's full IAWF profile here.

Yalda Modaaber is the Executive Director of Golestan Kids, a progressive Persian language immersion pre-school and after school program, in Berkeley, CA. Recently,  Golestan was selected as a "Pioneering Changemaker School" by Ashoka, the world's largest network of social entrepreneurs. Yalda also spends her time working on Golestan Heritage Language Collaborative, which provides support and expertise to all communities interested in the Golestan methodologies. In February 2016, Soheila Azizi announced her candidacy for the role of County of San Bernardino Superior Court Judge. Her platforms reflect devotion to justice and
 admirable  empathy, which are qualified with her experience.  For two decades Soheila has fought for truth, justice, and human rights. She is known for advocating on behalf of her clients with a strong sense of ethics and integrity that causes her to be recognized among the best attorneys in San Bernardino county.  Visit Soheila's IAWF profile here .
 
Intern at the Iranian American Women Foundation
We currently looking to mentor three qualified, motivated interns to work at the Iranian American Women Foundation headquarters in Irvine, CA.  The Office Interns will provide support to the IAWF Office Team and IAWF leadership. They will be exposed to the organization's advocacy efforts and research on Iranian-American women, events planning, and the day-to-day operations of a non-profit organization. All internships are volunteer positions and are unpaid and last from 10 to 12 weeks. For students, IAWF will assist in helping receive credit for their internship. Get all the information here
