AVC Faculty,
It’s Time to Get Accredited!
AVC’s Accreditation process is upon us. This happens every seven years and we are just kicking off the work that will culminate in 2024 with our next reaffirmation of accreditation from the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC).

Our first step is to create the Institutional Self-Evaluation Report (ISER). This report shows how the college meets its mission and goals, and its strengths and weaknesses concerning Accreditation requirements. The report also shows how the college aligns with the four Standards that the college is expected to meet (the four standards are outlined below). The work to complete the report has begun and will continue through April 30, 2022.
The Accreditation Committee meets monthly to discuss how the work for the four Standards is progressing. In an effort to create the report effectively, we have created Accreditation Teams. Each of the four Accreditation Standards Teams are currently gathering evidence to support their areas of focus. Accreditation Work Sessions are being held in-person and on Zoom for easy collaboration. In addition, each team and any sub-team holds additional meetings to discuss their areas of focus.
We would love to feature your work as part of this report! As you do spectacular things in your disciplines, departments, and/or divisions to help fill gaps or aid student success and retention, we would appreciate it if you would please share those data-supported narratives with the Accreditation Committee (AC). Please send those via email to madebayoige@avc.edu, along with any questions about the accreditation process.
Thank you for your participation,
