The past 6 months have caused us all to look at life in a different way. It has become so easy to be "me" focused. If you're prone to negativity it is so easy to want to climb into your shell and block out the world around you.
With tensions rising in the USA concerning the November election, fear and anxiety can rule in our hearts. It is in these moments that we need to lift our eyes off of our situations and see the world around us. Oftentimes looking at the bigger picture helps us to regain proper perspective inwardly.
The "world" has always been on the heart of the Lord. I have always been amazed at the intimacy we can have with the Him, but at the same time knowing He loves me just the same as the person on the other side of the world. God sees me and my individual struggles, yet he sees the people in Central America, the Caribbean, Africa and in closed nations and their struggles as well.
- Mark 13:10 – “And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.”
- Matthew 28:19 – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
- Acts 2:17a – “‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit on all people.'”
Would you take a few moments today to lift your focus to the nations of the world? Ask God to refine your perspective through the lens of His love.
As Praying Pelican Missions continues to serve domestically and internationally, we are asking God to keep our gaze fixed on Him, and to give us strategy to continue to serve alongside of the local church.
