Intel breaks ground on $17B semiconductor factory
Intel broke ground on two new semiconductor fabrication facilities, or fabs, at the company’s Ocotillo campus in Chandler on Sep. 24. In a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Governor Ducey, local elected officials and community leaders, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger celebrated the start of construction on the largest private investment in state history and reiterated the company’s commitment to investing in U.S. semiconductor leadership.

“Arizona has been core to Intel’s growth over the past 40 years and is the cornerstone of our growth strategy for the next 40,” said Pat Gelsinger, Intel CEO. “As the only U.S.-based leading-edge chipmaker, we are committed to building on this long-term investment and helping the United States regain semiconductor leadership. New technologies born here will improve the lives of every person on the planet.”

Cranial Technologies leases industrial space at Lotus Project in West Chandler
Cranial Technologies, Inc. signed a 20,893 square-foot lease at Lotus Project in West Chandler. The company will use the space to manufacture and distribute their signature DOC Band, a cranial helmet to treat infants with plagiocephaly.

Cranial signed a long-term lease to bring Lotus Project - Phase I, located at 6511 W. Frye Road, to 100 percent occupancy. Throughout West Chandler, industrial occupancy is currently at 96.6 percent, the area's highest rate on record according to CoStar.

“The Lotus Project Phase I has been a highly sought-after location in in-fill Chandler,” said Jackie Orcutt, Senior Vice President at CBRE. “Access to the Valley via Loop 202 and I-10, as well as the advanced labor pool in the surrounding areas has been a huge incentive for tenants locating within the park.”

VirTra scales manufacturing capabilities with purchase of industrial building in Uptown Chandler
VirTra, Inc. (NASDAQ: VTSI) (“VirTra”), a global provider of training simulators for the law enforcement, military, educational and commercial markets, has acquired a property in Uptown Chandler that consists of approximately 4.3 acres and an industrial building with approximately 76,650 square feet.

“As demand for VirTra’s world-class training simulators in the law enforcement and military markets grows, it is critical that we scale our manufacturing and production capacity to meet not only the burgeoning demand today but the potential growth in the future as well,” said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bob Ferris. “This will be a state-of-the-art headquarters where we push the envelope of effective simulation training products for the benefit of our customers and stakeholders. The property will also allow us to centralize our operations and ultimately provide greater efficiencies across our entire organization.”

Cirrus Aircraft continues expansion with Innovation Center in Price Corridor
Cirrus Aircraft announced earlier this month that it has opened a new Cirrus Aircraft Innovation Center in Chandler as part of its continued expansion. The office space in Price Corridor was selected due to its proximity to Cirrus Aircraft customers and a skilled talent pool.

The Chandler Innovation Center provides avionics, electrical and software engineering services. The facility supports Cirrus' Product Development team responsible for advancing new technologies and designs for innovative product introductions. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for November 2021.
