Solar + Storage Industry Growth Updates
Despite an industry-wide slowdown due to COVID-19, the U.S. energy storage industry saw record-breaking deployments during Q2 2020, with 168 MW of energy storage deployed. Additionally, a new report showed photovoltaics were the leading technology installed globally for new power generation, representing 45% of the capacity added in 2019.

AriSEIA in the News: Tucson Electric disputes charges it is unfairly limiting rooftop solar installs
Tucson Electric Power says it’s following new state rules on interconnecting rooftop solar systems with its power grid, despite complaints that TEP is improperly rejecting many customers who have applied to install solar.
US energy storage posts second-largest quarter, with more growth expected as COVID-19 recedes
The U.S. saw 168 MW/288 MWh of energy storage deployed in Q2 2020, the industry's second-largest deployment behind Q4 2019, according to a joint report by Wood Mackenzie and the U.S. Energy Storage Association.
Solar Power Prices Sink In The Age Of COVID
Solar module prices in the US and around the world are plummeting. In Q1 2020, module prices averaged 0.21 US dollars per watt, in comparison to 0.63 US dollars per watt in Q1 2016. Solar system pricing has fallen in all markets, including residential, non-residential, and utility.
