NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS
Kudos to Tom Cooke....Weed Warrior!!

Have you noticed the blue green patches on the gravel in our common areas around the neighborhood?  Those are Weed Warrior Tracks...Tom Cooke and the Gator have been attacking the weeds, an outstanding crop with our monsoons.  It's been a challenge, since recently the spray pump on the Gator decided this was a good time to stop working. But Tom and the Gator are relentless. He got the sprayer fixed "stat," and has attacked the weed crop with gusto.  Thanks so much for keeping our common areas beautiful, Tom!!

Now we residents have to tackle those pesky weeds in our own yards, especially our front yards.  If you are physically or financially unable to take care of the weeds, please contact 520-899-0455, and assistance will be available.
Friday Happy Hour, 8/6, 4 pm
This is Happy Hour week!  We're having No-host Happy Hour again this Friday, August 6, 4 pm at the Ramada.  Bring your own drinks, an appetizer to share (if you want to), and your own tableware.  Next Happy Hour will be in 2 weeks, on Friday, August 20.  It's a fun time to see your neighbors and friends....come on over and join in!
EE Name Tags
From Melodye Cooke
For several years Esperanza Estates has had a program making name tags for our residents to use at our social events at a nominal cost.  Since it's inception the project has been run by Melodye Cooke, who is no longer able to do so, and is looking for a volunteer to take it over. Only nominal time is involved to continue with this useful program.  If you are looking at a way to help your HOA this might be it.  You can contact Melodye at (520)336-8844 for details.
OH NO!!!  Unclaimed Waste, e.g. Dog Poop
It's reported that Esperanza Estates is seeing an "uptick" of "unclaimed waste" (as in dog poop) along the EE Trail and other spots.  ARGH!!!  Why is it so hard to carry a little blue bag, pick up your dog's poop, and then put it in your trash?  Is there a solution to this "never ending" problem?  Maybe the offenders are not EE residents...no way to know, short of posting Poop Patrol Police.  That's not going to happen...no one wants that job.  Surely it's not EE residents leaving behind unclaimed waste pet waste.....is it??  Thanks to everyone who properly cleans up after their pet.
MMM Schedule
Just a reminder, the MMM will be published every other week until September 13. Next issue will be August 16.

Ozone Pollution Advisory
Thanks for the Info...Craig Surprise
Ozone pollution is a problem here at this time of year.  Frequently, Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ) issues High Pollution Advisories for ground-level ozone air pollution for the Tucson metropolitan area.  You can sign up for these email notices at this link...Pima County Air Quality.  Here's info from the last alert issued on Wed, July 28....

If you are especially sensitive to ozone, you may want to limit your level of exertion outside between noon and 6 p.m. when elevated levels of ozone pollution are more likely to occur. Intense physical outdoor activity causes faster and deeper breathing, which allows ozone to penetrate into the parts of the lungs that are more likely to be injured.

Those who are most likely to be sensitive to ozone include children, people with respiratory disease, adults who are active outdoors, and certain individuals who have an unusual sensitivity to this particular pollutant.
