2020 IAFP Annual Conference Canceled

With the health and safety of our attendees as our top priority, the IAFP has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 IAFP Annual Conference in November.

We will be holding our Annual Business Meeting virtually and will share more information on how to join at a later date.

We had planned an exciting program with excellent speakers for 2020 and are hopeful they will be able to join us next year.

Please save the date for October 28-30, 2021 and plan on joining us at the West Des Moines Sheraton for our 2021 Annual Conference.

To create this special project, we are collecting as many head shots of our members as we can to make a collage...the more, the better!

Please submit your head shot to Katie at [email protected]
by August 20th.

PRIME Registry Will Support Practices Participating in the CMS
Primary Care First Initiative
PRIME Registry (primeregistry.org) is pleased to announce support for practices participating in the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)  Primary Care First(professionalismandvalue.org) (PCF) payment model.

PRIME Registry, the Qualified Clinical Data Registry established by the American Board of Family Medicine, currently supports the Merit-Based Incentive Payment Program (MIPS) and Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+). PRIME Registry provides users with a web-based, user-friendly dashboard and a suite of additional tools that help provide primary care practices and clinicians a faster, easier way to evaluate performance on clinical quality measures, participate in quality improvement initiatives, identify gaps in care, and understand the social determinants of health that may be affecting patient outcomes.

PRIME Registry, a partner of the Center for Professionalism and Value in Health Care,(www.cms.gov) exists to relieve quality reporting burden, improve quality assessment and improvement, prioritize measures that matter, and attract resources to primary care to support comprehensive, relationship-rich care. PRIME Registry is a testbed for more meaningful clinical quality measures as part of the Center's Measures That Matter initiative.

Practices that do not already utilize PRIME Registry are invited to learn more, register for an interactive demo, or enroll at primeregistry.org. PRIME Registry is free of charge for the first year for ABFM Diplomates, but is open to ALL primary care clinicians.

AMA Telehealth Impact Survey
You are invited to complete the Telehealth Impact Study Provider Questionnaire by clicking on the link below. The study has been approved by the Mayo Clinic IRB and is part of our efforts in the COVID-19 Healthcare Coalition to address the pandemic. Since COVID-19 started, we have experienced a significant shift towards telehealth. The goal of this project is to learn more about your experience with telehealth to identify the challenges and barriers, as well as the benefits.

Building on existing research, your response will help inform additional resources needed across the industry and health care community, provide insights to federal and state policymakers, and identify gaps in current research. Respondent and organization information will remain confidential and will only be reported in aggregate. The findings will be shared and made available to all on the COVID-19 Healthcare Coalition website, as well as shared by the various organizations participating in the Coalition Telehealth Workgroup*.

The COVID-19 Healthcare Coalition is focused on understanding your experience of telehealth as an individual physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant. Please click here to start the survey src.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6KAkyEVfhtGj3vL. The survey is expected to take up to 15-20 minutes and we ask that you complete the survey by August 13th, 2020. Please remember to press submit when you get to the end of the survey.
