MISSION To empower disadvantaged youth with education and life skills, enabling them to break cycles of poverty
Treasured Friends,

In last night's email we shared with you a native concept of guelaguetza, the giving of gifts. The spirit expressed in this annual event to share music, dances, and gifts is seen in all all areas of life.
In the photo above, a dancer carries a basket of gifts to share with passersby. In the next photo, a CdK student is sharing his remote mountain town with us. I am in the photo, with our Cdk associate Pamela while experiencing a tour with student Eraclio.
From his town of 15 houses on a steep mountain with no roads, he came to the city and is becoming a mechanical engineer. He graduates this December from university, thanks in part to CdK donors.

He will be amongst the first to leave his town, and thrive in the world, while trekking back in time to impact his own community. He will make possible for his people improved sanitation and the benefits of reliable electricity.
Thank you for your gift that helps make this all possible. You, working with Casa de Kids, are impacting the world

In deep gratitude,

Did you know? In Oaxaca state, the illiteracy rate is 13.3%, higher than the national average of 5.5%
Amazon Users - You can help our students while shopping by selecting Casa de Kids as your charity of choice. AmazonSmile is available at smile.amazon.com. With each purchase, AmazonSmile will donate 0.5% of your eligible purchases to CdK.
Why Oaxaca? Oaxaca City is the capital of the state of Oaxaca (pronounced wah-ha-kah). While our state is famous for native and culinary arts, it ranks as the country's third poorest and has one of the highest illiteracy rates. Its mountainous terrain makes commerce and education difficult, attracting many seeking a better life to Oaxaca City.
MISSION
To empower disadvantaged youth with education and life skills, enabling them to break cycles of poverty.
VISION
A world where youth are treated with respect and empowered through education, thriving in equality, integrity and freedom, creating the life of their dreams, while giving back to their community.
