Reopening Plans!
We are excited to announce that the Manchester Historic Association will be reopening to the public on July 1. We are looking forward to welcoming people back and want to outline the steps we will be taking, in accordance with the Governor's Economic Reopening Taskforce and CDC guidelines, to ensure the safety of our guests, volunteers, and staff.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we begin the reopening process!

Millyard Museum

· All guests are asked to use ONLY the Commercial Street entrance to the building and remain only on the first floor during your visit. At times, the entrance may be locked, even during our open hours.  If you are trying to visit the museum during our normal operating hours and the exterior door is locked, please call the Museum’s main line (603-622-7531) and someone will let you in.

· People will be required to maintain social distancing of 6 feet inside the museum.

· Masks will be required for visitors, volunteers, and staff (while in common areas).

· A limit of 30 visitors maximum inside the museum at any time will be maintained.

· A plexi glass shield will be installed at the admissions desk. Cashless transactions are encouraged.

· Hand sanitizer will be readily available at the admissions desk and in the building lobby.

· A one-way flow through the museum will be followed to facilitate social distancing, with floor directional arrows installed throughout the galleries.

· Common use surfaces, including door handles, push buttons, and phones, will be cleaned and disinfected at a minimum of every two hours.

· Many interactive components of the exhibits have been temporarily removed to minimize contact.

· The Museum shop will be open. Please maintain social distancing while in the shop.

· The restrooms immediately outside the museum entrance have been designated for Millyard Museum guests only. Surfaces will be cleaned regularly throughout the day, and professionally cleaned daily.

Research Center

Those wishing to visit our Research Center can do so by appointment only. Appointment times will be limited to 2-hour time blocks between 10am and 4pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There will be a maximum of 3 researchers allowed at a time.

· Masks will be required for visitors, volunteers, and staff (while in common areas).

· Hand sanitizer will be readily available at the admissions desk.

· Common use surfaces, including door handles and tables will be cleaned and disinfected at a minimum of every two hours.

People should not enter our facilities if they:

· Are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 or have a fever of 100.4 degrees.

· Have had close contact with someone who is suspected or confirmed to have had COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

· Have traveled in the past 14 days 1) outside the United States, 2) by cruise ship, or 3) on public transportation outside of New Hampshire, Maine, or Vermont.

Masks will be made available at the front desk for those who need them. If visitors are unable to wear masks, we look forward to you being able to visit once these restrictions are lifted.
History at Home Worksheets
Since temporarily closing in March, the MHA has been producing worksheets about Manchester history. It is our hope that, during these times when many parents are put into the role of teacher, these free resources can be used to teach children (and adults!) about the rich history of Manchester and her people.

New activities continue to be posted regularly. You can access all worksheets on our website and through our Facebook page.

Below are links to several worksheets. Keep checking our website and Facebook page for new ones!

28th Annual Historic Preservation Awards
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to postpone the 28th Annual Historic Preservation Awards, originally scheduled for May 12, 2020.

Instead, we are planning a virtual event to recognize this year's worthy recipients and will be announcing more details in the coming weeks.

Thank you to all our sponsors for your support, including our Lead Sponsor:
RBC Wealth Management.
Support Manchester History

We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who gave to the MHA through the NH Gives campaign last week, both online and through the mail. Through your generosity, we raised over $6,000 to support the MHA and our mission to collect, preserve, and share Manchester's history.

Thank you to everyone who has continued to show their support to the MHA in the midst of this pandemic. We appreciate your support! If you were unable to give during the NH Gives window, you can still support the MHA by donating directly to  https://www.manchesterhistoric.org/donations
