January 5, 2023

Hello, Westview families,

Happy New Year, Westview! It is my hope that the Winter Break was an enjoyable one for you and your family. I hope you all had the chance to catch up with friends and family and recharge with some rest and relaxation. I spent some time reflecting on the great things that we accomplished in 2022 and am looking ahead to all the events and opportunities that 2023 has in store. We are excited for the year ahead and were happy to welcome our staff and students back to campus this week. Our calendar is full, and our campus has a busy spring ahead. Please take the time to review some of the upcoming events in January, such as Grandparents Day and February, the Westview Fundraising Luncheon, and make sure to RSVP for you and your family members. We can't wait to spend more time with you in the new year!

Looking forward,

Bevan Koch

Westview Welcomes - Familiar Faces in New Places

Katie Hazeldine begins the year as our new middle school math and technology teacher. We are so excited to have Ms. Hazeldine move to the 1830 building and take over this role. She has a background in engineering and is a legacy math teacher; her mom, her dad, and her grandmother were all math teachers. Mrs. Hazeldine exudes calmness under pressure, and we could not be more excited for her to teach and guide our middle school students in the fundamental math lessons of pre-algebra. Welcome to the middle school team, Mrs. Hazeldine!

We are so excited that Kimberley Stafford accepted the role as the 1900 building Science and Technology Teacher, previously held by Ms. Katie. Her students call her Ms. Sunshine, and she is quite familiar with young Wildcats in the 1900 building. Since the Fall of 2021, Ms. Sunshine has been a Lower Elementary Instructional Assistant. She is also an autism grandparent, so she joins us with plenty of first-hand experience with our student population. Plus, just like Katie, Sunshine has a background in engineering. She is the perfect addition to our robust science program, and our young scientists are very lucky to have her.

Be Our Guest at The Westview School Fundraising Luncheon| Wednesday, February 15

Be our Guest at The Westview School Fundraising Luncheon. Please save the date for Wednesday, February 15th, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at River Oaks Country Club, and join our community in support of The Westview School. Our Fundraising Luncheon is an annual event and is our largest fundraiser of the year.

The key to the success of the Fundraising Luncheon is to have our valued supporters host tables and invite friends, family, and other potential Westview supporters. We truly appreciate the help of our families and supporters who host tables and attend our luncheon. Here is how it worksRegister here as a guest or table host. Then, you invite friends, family, and co-workers to sit with you at our luncheon and learn all the great things Westview is doing for our students.

It costs nothing to host a table. The event is FREE to attend for all guests, but registration is required. At the event, there will be a short program with both student and parent speakers concluding with a soft ask for donations from our Board of Directors. If you have guests interested in supporting The Westview School, please consider hosting a table and extending an invitation to them. Think friends, family, neighbors, business associates, professionals, and church members.

More details to come in the new year. Questions? Email Roger Browning, Director of Development.
