Our walking T. rex returns for a dino parade
on the Dinosaur Discovery Trail! You won't want to miss this 15 minute romp with your favorite dinosaur!

Science LIVE on stage!
Witness an amazing experiment demonstrating the strength of a cardboard cylinder! Will it support the weight of a human???

Sea Life Past and Present
Learn about our oceans and what they looked like in the past. After searching for ancient ocean fossils (you can keep!), meet aquatic ambassadors and compare them to their prehistoric ancestors.

Minerals and More!
Learn about the rocks and minerals
that make up the foundation of our world. Then, identify mined minerals
you can take home!

Canoeing for Beginners!
Learn how to safely canoe!
Then, head out onto the calm waters of
Deer Park Lake for a paddle.
Ages 8+ and at least 50 lbs.

Canoes and Conservation
Paddle Deer Park Lake while you learn about conservation efforts to protect freshwater ecosystems. Explore pond life with field testing. Ages 12+

Meteor Day!
Let's celebrate the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower with meteor themed
shows and activities.
(Planetarium shows are an extra ticket.)

Freshwater Aquatic Safari
Paddle through a swamp ecosystem in a canoe. Conduct field lab research to better understand this ecosystem.
Must pack lunch and snacks. Safari is off-site.

Paleontology Safari
Can you dig it? Hand-collect fossils of organisms that were once prolific in Virginia up to 5 million years ago. Learn how they became fossils, and how to identify them.
