Are You Ready for a Teen Horror Escape Room and a Skill Share?
Our Teen programs in October will continue online:

If you're looking for books to read, we have Reader's Advisory and Book Babble via Zoom!

If you're looking for something to watch? All you need is the Netflix Watch Party Chrome App, and to keep an eye on the Nevins Library Teen Facebook Page for links to Anime Club and Netflix Watch Party.

If you're looking for a safe space to hang out and be yourself? LGBT+ identifying teens and allies are welcome to join Rainbow Club via Zoom.

Do you have a cool skill? Can you tie a tie, tune a piano, paint a mini-figure, or have a different skill to share? Share your how to video with our teen services librarian, Alison, by emailing her. We'll post links to them on the Teen Facebook Page and the website!

Finally, do you love Horror? A horror book Escape Room will be posted to the Teen Facebook Page on October 21st. Keep a look out!!

Libraries Working Towards Social Justice
The Nevins Library has teamed up with seven other local public libraries to present a variety of virtual programs addressing topics related to social justice issues.

These thought-provoking lectures and discussions will help Merrimack Valley residents to think about and cordially address current events and troubling issues in today’s society.

Patrons are welcome to sign up for any of these programs. You will find links to these programs on the Nevins Library website, or you can go directly to the websites of the sponsoring libraries. All can be found at the link below.
What's Happening in Children's?
Tenglewood Marionettes are Back & Little Bookworms Too!
We know that parents and children are busy adapting to the new rhythm and logistics of the school year, but we do hope we’ll see you at our programs – we even have some in-person events to offer this month!

While the weather’s still warm enough, we’ll have Science Explorers and a new Outdoor Art program on the library grounds, as well as one last Pop-Up Library outside.

As for “Zoomed” efforts, we’re offering another performance by the fabulous Tanglewood Marionettes, and we’re happy to say that we’re continuing our summertime collaboration with the Nevins Farm MSPCA to offer Little Bookworms once a month!

Also, after a summer hiatus we’re bringing back the monthly Book Chatters book group.

And of course we’re continuing our weekly Babies & Books program; our various read-aloud posts (Get on Board!, Staff Storytime, and PJ Storytime) and our Story & Craft and Snacktivity programs. You can find them on our Facebook page, or on a new Virtual Read-Aloud page.

It’s been so nice having our young patrons back in the building – thanks for dropping by, and we hope to see you soon at our programs!
The Nevins Library would like to thank the local group MethuenMaRocks for establishing a Kindness Rock Garden here at the library!

You're sure to notice the colorful rocks under the tree near the book drop the next time you visit the library.

The goal of these rocks, and of the artists who hand paint them, is to help spread kindness throughout the community.

If you see a rock that speaks to you, feel free to pick it up and take it with you!

If you see a rock that you think might brighten someone's day, feel free to pick it up and share with them.

If you would like to contribute to the Kindness Rock Garden, please feel free to do so and help the garden grow!
Do you subscribe to our Monthly Newsletter mostly for the Children's & Teen Programing and Events, but, are tired of always scrolling all the way to the bottom?

Email us and we will subscribe you to a Children's/Teen First version of the Newsletter. It's the same newsletter, and you'll get all the adult events going on as well. They'll just be flipped around so what you want to read is first! (And, we can switch you back to our regular newsletter format at any time!) Give it a try!!
