Knollwood News
January 17, 2021
We continue our study of the Gospel of John. The apostle, writing at the end of the first century, gives his account of the life and ministry of Jesus. His prime reason for writing, as he states in chapter 20, is that we “may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing have life in his name” (John 20:31).

Each week, we invite you to read the chapter(s) that will be the focus of the next Sunday’s message. This coming week, the reading is John, chapter 16.
Update on Knollwood Staffing Plan

If you are on our mailing list at Knollwood, you should have received a letter from me this week giving you an update on changes to our church staff. There are several important things for you to know about.

If for any reason you did not receive that letter, you may either pick up a copy at the Information Booth in the Worship Center foyer this Sunday or you can email Kathryn at kathryn@knoll.org and she will send a copy to you. Be sure to include your mailing addressPlease be in prayer for decisions Knollwood members will be making in the coming months.

Mission Update - Michelle & Ben Foster
Michelle and Ben Foster continue to make important connections as they immerse themselves in the college community in Louisville, Kentucky. Below are some highlights of their most recent newsletter:

We are truly SO thankful for your prayers and support! Our work of doing ministry would not be possible without you.

Every year, Sojourn College has a Fall Retreat. Due to Covid, this year's Fall Retreat had to be transitioned to a Fall Weekend to keep everyone safe. We had over 50 students attend and many were moved to consider missional living in a way they never had before! The momentum from the prayer night led us to have 7 people sign up for the Acts 1:8 Program, our summer mission program!

We value your prayers more than you could ever know! Here are two huge ways you can be praying with us:
  1. Many of our students are feeling tired and disconnected in this season. Please pray that they would be refreshed and energized for what God wants to do in the Spring.
  2. In order for our 7 students to participate in A18 (our Summer Missions Program), they will need to raise support. Please pray that God would use support-raising in their walks with him and that He would raise their support!
It’s Prize Time!

Each Sunday in January we're giving out prizes for the Trivia Challenge. Here are pictures from last Sunday's Challenge. The Ledbetter kids took home some Dominos from their Sunday Busy Basket and played with them during schoolwork. The Mendez kids won the prize drawing for answering Trivia questions online and tried to learn a new card came called "Dos".

Join us Sunday morning either in person or online for another chance to win a prize!
Rakes and Tarps and Wheelbarrels, Oh My!

Our awesome teenagers gave up some of their time last Sunday to rake leaves on our church property. We were so proud of how hard they worked and all that they accomplished in the time we were there. It was a beautiful day for sprucing up the property.

Special thanks to our leaders - Chris Ayers for spear-heading the clean-up, Travis Mayo for bringing his lawnmower, and Liz Pierce. And thanks to all of the amazing teenagers who took time out on a beautiful day to work hard to serve others. Thank you!!
