The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) continues its support of relief efforts in Ukraine and to organizations helping the millions of refugees the Russian invasion has created. As you pray for peace and safety for all Ukrainians, please keep these CBF individuals and the other relief workers in your thoughts and prayers:
Gennady and Mina Podgaisky (pictured above) served in Kyiv for 20 years and are currently in North Carolina, providing round-the-clock counseling and emotional support to ministry partners, church councils, church members, Bible study members, and other friends and neighbors. The Podgaiskys provide Ukrainians with evacuation information and connection to in-country resources, such as transportation, relocation to safety, shelters and contact information for medical advice and the location of food and shelter.
They are also sending money from the CBF Ukraine Relief Fund to trusted ministry partners and individuals in Kyiv, Romania, and Spain. The Podgaiskys have partnered with the War Orphan Project, a new ministry established to care for children whose parents have been killed during the invasion.
Macarena and Eddie Aldape are CBF field personnel in Albacete, Spain, where they serve immigrants and refugees. On March 15 Eddie left Spain to assist CBF staff member Shane McNary in relief efforts for Ukrainian refugees in Slovakia. Many Northside Drivers will remember the Aldapes as the parents of former NDBC member and McAfee graduate Alyssa Aldape.
