Mitchell Marsh joins the University Advancement team as Annual Giving Coordinator. Mitchell recently oversaw record-breaking fundraising efforts as the 2020 Senior Class Gift Chair and was awarded the Frank Barry Leadership Award, a top graduation award!

Matt Wise is no stranger to the Hurst, having most recently worked in Academic Support at the Mercyhurst North East campus, Matt recently joined the University Advancement Team on the Erie campus as a Gift Officer!

Career News

Erin (Cunningham) Peters '04 started a new role with Nordson Corporation as the global leader of talent processes.

Courtney Olevnik '08, who formerly served as director of annual giving, began a new role as director of international student services at Mercyhurst University. In her new role, Courtney will lead the development and, implementation of strategic plans for successful recruitment, enrollment, and student services for the International Student Office.

Anthony "Tony" Prusak '90 was recently named director of business development for FHTvirtual powered by Cadence. The first and only virtual meeting platform designed and dedicated for global medical associations to support international medical sponsors in the, partnership of their virtual conferences.

Ken "Breeze" Walker '90 has retired with 25 years of service with the Pennsylvania State Police.

Adam Stewart '07 has been named assistant vice president of sales and sales strategy for PSECU, Pennsylvania's largest credit union.


Awards

Craig Rybczynski '95 was awarded the Tom Borrelli Award as the National Lacrosse League's Media, Member of the Year.

Lisa Bannister '08 is employed at Lake Erie Correctional Institution in Conneaut Ohio as a career tech instructor received Employee of the Month for June 2020. During the pandemic starting in March 2020 to current, she has been reassigned to Front Entry to help process staff in and out each day. She was nominated by the Institutions Investigator and Education Supervisor for a job well done in a position she was never trained in.

William Chiodo '73 was honored as the first recipient of the 2020 Legacy Award by the Florida Art Education Association. The award recognizes a life-long leader and arts advocate for unwavering, support, dedication, commitment, and accomplishment that has, significantly shaped visual arts education. Prior to his retirement, he had a successful 40-year career with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, America's fourth-largest school, system.
