Sharing Christ in Guatemala
CPI sent two healthcare mission teams to serve in Guatemala this June. The photo above of Dr. Adam Reed & fellow Guatemalan and U.S. healthcare providers demonstrates one of the many “God-moments” during CPI’s time in the city of Jocotillo. An elderly man came to the clinic with upper back pain, limited range of motion of his left shoulder and no breath sounds in the upper left lung. Following an exam, the CPI healthcare providers were concerned a tumor may have been present, and asked the man to receive an x-ray before any treatment could be provided. As he left the doctor’s station, he and his wife went to the Clinic of the Soul where members of the church prayed with them.

By God’s grace, the man was able to travel to Guatemala City to receive an x-ray, and he returned to the CPI clinic the next day! As he and his wife waited quietly and patiently as the doctors reviewed the x-rays, the CPI providers were able to share the wonderful news that he was tumor-free! The CPI Physical Medicine department was able to then proceed with treatment for the pain and limited range of motion of his shoulder and upper back. What a blessing to report that after the treatment, he had regained full range of motion and was pain-free! He and his wife proceeded to exit the clinic, and as they left they both returned to the Clinic of the Soul to thank God for all that He had done for them.

All told, 772 men, women, and children were treated at the CPI clinic in Jocotillo, and 86 made a profession of faith in Jesus! One was a young Guatemalan boy named Alan, who came to serve in the clinic with his church's youth group. Pastor Raul and our church partner in Jocotillo are so excited to have so many souls to follow up with as they desire to love God and love people in their local community.

"And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: ...But as for you, you thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive." Genesis 50:19-20

Run For Patients 2
We are so excited to introduce our first annual 5K Run/Walk, “Run for Patients,” to support the ministries of Caring Partners International. The event has a fun theme that is built around Hebrews 12:1 "…let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”

We are so appreciative to all our volunteers and supporters who have been running the race with us for many years! This event will be a fun day of fellowship and exercise and is intended to bring attention to the patients that CPI serves in our clinics across the globe and here at home. Our ministry estimates it costs approximately $25.00 to reach one of our patients with physical and spiritual healing, so for every $25.00 raised during our 5K Run/Walk, CPI can provide a physical & spiritual check-up for a person in need!

This year’s event is scheduled to take place at Armco Park in Warren County, Ohio, but groups, families, or individuals can participate from their very own neighborhoods if they wish. We are also set up for serious racers with a timed start and finish line. So, If you are coming to support CPI and enjoy some fun & fellowship, or if you are a serious runner, the event is planned to meet your needs!
