Donors Choose program a success at Pleasantville Elementary
New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer joined students at Pleasantville Elementary School to see first hand the impact of one of the county's supported Donors Choose projects and deliver a proclamation for students. Two teachers at Pleasantville applied for a grant to add peddles under the desks of students to give them a way to stay active while learning and to stimulate learning. County Executive joins in Wilmington's Bike-to-Work Day
County Executive Matt Meyer joined dozens of riders to "bike to work" on Friday morning during Wilmington's annual "Bike-to-Work Day." The annual event seeks to bring attention to the environmental and health benefits of biking as an alternative commute, and raise awareness of safety for bikers on Delaware roadways. Ice Cream Fest returns to its roots on June 26th at Rockwood
New Castle County is bringing back the Ice Cream Festival after cancelling the event in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event will be held on June 26th. To ensure the safety of guests, the event will be pared down from previous years, but will feature several ice cream vendors, live local music and shops from the First State Flea Market. Chromebooks, hotspots available for checkout at County libraries
New Castle County Library patrons can now checkout Chromebooks and Wi-Fi hotspots from their local libraries thanks to a partnership between the county and the Delaware Division of Libraries Digital Loaning Initiative. The Pandemic made the digital divide in the community more acute and access to technology and broadband are critical for job searches, schoolwork, and more, are vitally important.
