“Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest,
if we do not give up. So then, while we have the opportunity,
let us do good to all.” (Gal 6:9-10)

Your Help is Needed in Ukraine
Your help is needed in Ukraine where there are already more than
2.9 million people in need of assistance. There is great risk of additional suffering both within Ukraine and for those who may flee to neighboring countries for safety. Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and our partners are preparing, and we need immediate support to meet both ongoing needs, as well as those related to families forced to flee their homes as the situation intensifies.
Years of conflict along the eastern border have already displaced 1.3 million people from their homes and claimed 14,000 lives. Throughout this time, Caritas Ukraine, with support from CRS, has been providing emergency relief and recovery.
CRS and Caritas partners on the ground are preparing across Ukraine and in bordering countries, ready to provide safe shelter, hot meals, hygiene supplies, fuel to keep warm, transport to safe areas, counseling support and more.
The situation there is rapidly unfolding, and we could not do this work without your help. When you donate, you provide immediate assistance for your Ukrainian sisters and brothers affected by this crisis.
Your prayers and support will make so much difference.
Please give a vital gift today to Catholic Relief Services.

Residents of Marydale Retirement Village Extend their Appreciation
“Thank You to Saint Mark’s High School and
Church of the Holy Child!”
|
|
In February, a special group of students from Saint Mark’s High School distributed Valentine’s Day gifts to Marydale Retirement Village residents. The efforts of students, and especially St. Mark’s Key and Z Clubs, helped make many senior citizens very happy and grateful. In addition, the Church of the Holy Child also conducted their annual “Soup-er Bowl Sunday” food drive for Marydale residents.
The residents constructed large thank you cards for both groups!

“…and Thank You, Knights of Columbus!”
|
|
The residents of Marydale Retirement Village, Catholic Charities, send a heartfelt thank you to Mr. Joseph Gorman and the Knights of Columbus, Church of the Holy Child, for their generous gifts of food and personal items. The plentiful gifts filled more than half of Marydale’s activity center! Residents were able to replenish their pantries and stretch their shopping dollars through February and well into March.

What do you know about credit? Do you know how to wisely use credit cards to improve your credit rating? Do you know what a credit rating is? Do you even know what credit is?

Catholic Charities Basic Needs Program can help you learn about your credit.
Helping clients to understand credit is one of the goals of the financial coaching services Catholic Charities provides through our Basic Needs program. Credit isn’t just limited to credit cards, but affects leasing a residence and purchases like homes, cars, or household appliance. Bad credit can keep you from securing a permanent residence, or force you into paying a higher interest rate.
Catholic Charities Basic Needs program may be able to help you through the process of creating and keeping a budget, managing your credit responsibly, and give you other resources to help you manage your debt.

Ways to Donate to Catholic Charities
Food Donations
|

Catholic Charities runs several types of food programs based at four of its sites: Kent County Office in Dover, Casa San Francisco in Milton, Seton Center in Princess Anne and Sussex Office in Georgetown.
Food Cooperatives
The Food Cooperative program helps families and individuals stretch their limited incomes by providing a supplemental bag of groceries monthly. With the help of the Food Bank of Delaware and the Maryland Food Bank, club members receive nutritious, meal-ready products for a fraction of retail value.
Currently, our food distribution sites are located in Wilmington, Milton, Georgetown, Lewes, Slaughter Neck, Long Neck, Bridgeville, Roxanna, Dover and Princess Anne.
Emergency Food Pantries
Emergency food pantries are located at our Main Office, Kent Office, Sussex Office, Casa San Francisco, and Seton Center. Staffed by volunteers and stocked with donated food and USDA commodities, the pantry provides 3-4 days of food for persons who are in crisis and cannot buy food.
